    The Air-Way Has Landed!

Michael, thank you - I've contacted Charlie regarding the bags and what type of brushes these take. I think they are a bit worn down. I'm thrilled with this machine, maybe I'll have to switch from Kirbys to Air-Ways! ...just kidding ;-)

    The Air-Way Has Landed!

FedEx delivered a huge box this morning, I wasn't expecting it to come until next week! After some light cleaning, she's looking pretty good! Everything is original, it even had an original Air-Way cellulose paper bag in it still (unfortunately it was full of dirt and falling apart, so I...

Selling My Antique Scott Fetzer Sanitation System with Attachments

I've acually been watching this from the moment it was listed, trying to decide if it was worth going for, given the condition issues. If nothing else, maybe a good source for parts for a better example?

    NLA plastic parts?

Apparently I was half awake when I posted that, I meant gray, not red! Oh well, you get the idea...

    NLA plastic parts?

Yes, I've used SEM paint before, but wouldn't a solid red wheel that doesn't wear through to black or brown be WONDERFUL?

    NLA plastic parts?

How about red, black, and gray wheels? There are currently no red or gray reproductions, and the black ones are nothing like the originals that had the kirby name on them. I'd pay good money for those!

    Found a GE Swivel Top

Thanks for the info. The hose is actually pretty supple and has great suction. I took it all apart last night and cleaned the dust out and laundered the bag. The previous owner appears to have just been using the cloth bag to catch the dirt, but it doesn't seem like it did a great job filtering...

    Found a GE Swivel Top

I rarely deviate from Kirbys, but I stumbled upon this over the weekend. The elderly woman across the street from my house recently moved to an assisted living facility (she just celebrated her 100th birthday!) Of course I had to walk over and check it out. I found this cute little thing in the...

    Unusally nice Kirby Heritage II

Of course it still works, it's a Kirby! ;-)

Looking for Kirby 500 Series and Earlier Manuals

Yeah, I guess it kind of makes sense that they only posted the ones with major differences, but it's not like they probably don't have unopened boxes of every manual in their basement they could scan, and they only take up 7MB each...

Looking for Kirby 500 Series and Earlier Manuals

Hey guys, if anyone has any extra 500 series or earlier Kirby manuals, I am currently building a library of them which I intend to scan and make available to everyone. Let me know and I will buy them from you!   (Yes, I know Kirby has some of them available online already, but I'd like to...

    Scott & Fetzer Sanitation System

Hahahaha, awesome. And beautiful Model C, by the way! I'd like one of those, too. Kirbys are addictive, what can I say?

    Scott & Fetzer Sanitation System

You guys are making me jealous! And all of those attachments and box...ugh! :-)

    Scott & Fetzer Sanitation System

Are these really that hard to find? This is probably my favorite and most desired model, but I've had a hard time finding anyone willing to sell one at any price. Of course, there is always the likelihood of finding one "in the wild" but I never seem to have such luck...

    A Look at the Princess

I had almost forgotten that we had one of these growing up until I saw this! I think ours was light blue. I remember dragging that thing all around the house

    A scam!

I didn't realize that was Kent's listing. I just received some felt Emtor gaskets in the mail today from him, great guy!

Kirby Rug Nozzle Has a Mottled Finish After Intense Polishing

So, I was able to get rid of most of the corrosion off by starting out with 00 steel wool, then 000, and finally 0000. I'm definitely considering a buffer though, these arms are getting tired with all of these Kirbys that keep finding me! (A 560 showed up on my porch today, imagine...) Oh, and...

    A scam!

The guy selling the "sideways" Kirbys actually invests an incredible amount of time and money restoring them to like new condition. They are in the same price range as a new high-end vacuum like a Dyson, and I'd much rather have a vintage machine that has been cleaned and serviced over a junky...

Kirby Rug Nozzle Has a Mottled Finish After Intense Polishing

The thing is, it isn't pitted or gouged, which I would understand not being able to polish out. I'll take some photos later today.
