    Kirby questions

Does anybody know when Kirby changed the handle fork tube from smooth to ribbed? I have a 516 that has the smooth tube, and a 519 that is ribbed, so my guess is it is somewhere in between. Also, is the attached picture of the gray cord with red plugs an original? I haven't seen this style of...

Question for all you Hoover experts!

I know Kirby still makes a lot of parts for their old machines, but does Hoover still make old parts? I don't have any Hoovers but I may like to get one from the 1930's at some point, but was wondering if you can still get some of the parts (brushrolls, belts, cords, fans, bumpers, wheels) from...

    Free Lewyt Nozzle

I have a LEWYT nozzle for free if anyone wants it. Looks like it's in pretty good condition. I don't collect Lewyt machines, so I don't need this. Got it with some other Kirby tools I bought on ebay. First one to respond via email (in my profile) will get it. Just pay for shipping. Thanks, Tom

    Kirby Rubber Hose

Short Coupling Tube The black hose is from a 505. It came with the 505 machine I purchased a few months ago. I attached a pic. of the wand end short coupler tube that Charles mentioned (I think this is it). This piece attaches to the hose, and then you attach the tools to the other end.

    Kirby Rubber Hose

I'm sure this has probably been discussed before. However, I have an old Kirby rubber hose (see pic.) which is very stiff and was wondering if there is anything I can do to straighten it out and make it more flexible. I don't plan on using it but would like it to be flexible if possible. Also...

    Unusual Kirby Classic Omega?

OMEGA Bags The differences in the OMEGA bags got me curious so I looked at the two OMEGA bags I have lying around and noticed that they are in fact different ! I posted pics. If I am correct the first picture is the original bag (with the dots) and the second picture is the pinstripe which was...

Thanks everyone for your help in searching for the Kirby logo for my D50 headlight cap. Karl, I did try the local Kirby place in Elmont but the guy told me he hasn't seen one of these machines in a long time. I'll keep hunting around, ebay etc...
