    Vacuette question

Calem, I just remembered I have a picture of a Hoover 28 fan blade that I had worked on a few years ago. It does look pretty similar. I see the screw on the top of it, I probably can take that off, once I get a blade.I

    Vacuette question

THANKS Dave and Calem !! I got the friction rollers in place, and I got the fan blade off. It came off rather easily when I tapped on the fulcrum. Now I just need a Hoover 28 blade since one of the blades is broken on this one. But first I'll degrease all the parts and clean them up...

    Vacuette question

I took apart the gearcase on a vacuette recently, and am trying to figure out how to remove the fan blade. Also, there are 3 what look to be like bearings that fell out when I opened it (see picture), and I can't figure out where they go. Has anyone ever taken apart the gears in a vacuette...

    Dyson help!

A friend of mine recently bought a Dyson (2 weeks ago). I'm not sure of the model, it was working fine until today. He said there is no suction from the brushroll, but there is suction from the hose. He said the brushroll is turning but there is no suction. I'm just going by what he is telling...

Kirby Spray Gun for Spray Painting

I was wondering if anyone has ever used the Kirby (or other brands) of Spray gun for spray painting. How well does it work? I have to paint some louvered doors with latex paint, and figured spray painting would go faster than using a brush.

Can finally start cleaning PARTS of the palace!

Kirbys in the Basement? John, you keep your Kirbys in the basement? That's where I keep all my Hoovers,(actually my one Hoover) tucked away in a corner so no one can see it. Actually, I'm glad to see that you have at least 3 Kirbys. If you have foyer, a shiny Kirby on display would be a nice...

    Christmas Vac - Already ?

I was in Lowes the other day, and they were putting out Christmas decorations, so I thought I'd bring out my recently restored X-mas vac. My Kirby Dual 'S A N T A' tronic!!!. A Kirby trimmed in red would be more appropriate, but I like the name of this one. Sorry I don't have any before...

KIRBY Handle fork spring for 505-515 Models

Has anybody ever changed a handle fork spring on a Kirby 505-515? I actually have done it twice with the special tools Kirby makes, but it never seems to be tight enough, so the handle doesn't really spring back up like the newer models, it actually will fall down if you let go about halfway...

    Kirby 560 Belt Lifter Question

Chad I had trouble too putting the metal clip back on a D50 belt lifter cap, but got it on eventually. I reused the same clip, since it wasn't broken, however sometimes they can break when you remove them if they are rusted. You need a small tipped screw driver so you can push the tip of the...

The Kirby c2 that was on ebay.

Model R on EBAY recently I couldn't tell from the pictures, but it didn't look like the nozzle came off, I didn't see a lever for the nozzle lock. Was the Model R nozzle not removable? Or was it attached in a different way?

    Pathetic.

I wonder how these vacuums would work on area rugs if they have fringe on them. Would the vacuum get caught on the fringe?

    Kirby Model C bag question

Pictured below are two sani-emtors, one from a Kirby Model C and the other from a 505. If you notice, the diameter of the throat openings where you attach the bag are different. The Model C is smaller. I was wondering then if the first black bags that were made had smaller openings at the...

    Kirby belt lifter question

Belt Lifter Charles, If you get a chance at some point, I would like to see a picture of the brass belt lifter with black and red lettering. Was it actually made of brass or just plastic to look like brass? Another thing I just noticed on the pictures I posted, the older belt lifter on the...

    Kirby belt lifter question

In the photo below there are two Kirby belt lifters. The one on the left I believe was used on Models 508 & 509, however I have seen it on later models, even up to the 512, but who knows if they were interchanged between machines. Does any one know when the transition was made between the two...

    Kirby Model 513 -- 4 amp

Bill Great job! I was wondering if you do anything with the metal conduit that runs from the foot switch to the safety switch. I tried polishing mine by hand on the 505 I renovated but it doesn't seem to help. I even tried to look around for a piece of conduit that size but could not find...
