    Electrolux Model L Motor Repair

Hello Greg! I don't think the distance of the holders is anything to be concerned about. It will be a pretty close fit. I would consider replacement of the bearings in the vacuum as well so long as you will have it apart. Another possiblity is that the armature is shorting out, if you have a...

    AWESOME $4 Find This Morning

Would a customer back in the day have been able to send in a vac to Hoover for a rebuild? Similar to Kirby?

    AWESOME $4 Find This Morning

So, in the picture I have attached... would this mean the vac was rebuilt August of 1934?? If so, that was pretty soon for a rebuild I would say!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yeah for that price you would think it should have held up... Are you sure you are turning the correct way on it? I would also check the hole in the armature because if it did that to the screwdrivers, I am worried that it may have done something to the hole....

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It is the same way up to the Omega for the fans. The Classic 1CR still used the old fan removal method I believe.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The top one definately is too flimsy to hold up to that, and I bet the one that bent is aluminum plated as well. If you have a steel pin that would work, other wise use an old ice pick if you can find one as they were made to withstand a lot

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yeah, you gotta use a really hard piece of metal for it, as you found out, anything less will break/bend. Make sure you are also turning the fan the correct way when removing it... They can be a real pain in the neck to remove, just keep trying!

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Ughhhh. That is not going to be easy. The screw that was in there was "Smashed" and the end flattened out to keep it in. With an anvil and lots of brute strength you may be able to fix it. For the fan, you should see a small hole in the armature if you look through the side vents. I use an old...

    AWESOME $4 Find This Morning

Happened to see across the street from my house there was a sign for an estate sale. Decided to take a stroll over as it was so close, walked in the garage, saw a Lux XXX in the basement for $12.00 but seeing as though I have several, decided to pass on that (though on Sat whatever is left will...

    Airway Motor Filters

Hello all! Was working on an Airway 88 I picked up and I must say they are probably the easiest vac I have ever worked on. That being said, when I removed the fiberglass looking round disc that was directly below the metal bag basket, and above the motor, it literally fell apart. Does anyone...
