Kirby 510 That Sounds Like a Later 500 Series

I've used a 513 with a newer fan, a Classic fan I believe, and it sounded like a completely different machine.

Couldn't just leave it there...or...We're gonna need lots of braided cloth electric cording.

The mystery thumbscrew is actually part of the original height adjustment. There was a metal piece that went from that bracket down to the real wheels which originally moved. You used that thumb screw and another one more on top to lock the rear wheels in the position you wanted.

Lookie what was at the Goodwill for 5.00!!!!

I think part of your luck is that no one knows what a Sebo is really, unless you own one. Everyone knows what a Kirby is and thinks its priceless. The sad thing is that usually if I see a Royal, they priced it like a kirby too. I found this on Youtube, the clear one is cool, I wonder how much...

    Rummage sale vacuum

Its a knockoff of a Tri-Star. Its just a vacuum. They are pretty expensive, like a Tri-Star, but are a bit heavier and bulkier. http://www.miraclemateusa.com/

    Hoover Concept Question

No, the Concept was replaced by a machine called the PowerMax, which was basically a Concept with tools. That model was replaced by one called the Self Propelled. Then came the WindTunnel.

Oh no, my Miele hose split!

That specific model was my dream Miele for years until I finally got one off eBay. Sadly I put close to $300 in parts into the poor thing to get it to be useable, but its in great shape. I think the wholesale on the hose for that machine (you can still get them new) for like $110. I guess to me...

    Friends are AWESOME!

Thats a very nice Kirby, I've been lucky enough to get a couple that nice too. I love how the buffed aluminum looks with the shiny red trim. As far as the dates/models go, I remember the pre-560 machines by taking the last 2 numbers of the model and adding that to 1940, being as bad with...

    No Sound?

I would still like them. Oddly I've actually thought about how I'd feel about my vacuums if I ever went deaf (odd, but my mind tends to wonder in strange directions). I still have the carpet lines, and look/feel of using the machine, and the way they work. But it would be missing something...

HA! He does! I love those Lewyts, I keep looking for one out here, but they seem pretty hard to find.

what vacuums have YOU found in the trash?

My best trash find, way back when I first started collecting was a Kirby CClassic 3. It has the big box and the normal vacuuming attachments, and I found the rest of the tools like the Handi-Butler and the Rug Renovator for it later on. It was in very good shape and clean too, I was surprised...

    Kenmore upright

I believe that one was the Kenmore Lifestyle upright. I don't have any pic of one though.
