    HOOVER at my door!

That reminds me, one time I was at my Grandma's house when she was on vacation, and I found a Hoover Celebrity in one of their buildings, I took it in the house and cleaned it up (was FILTHY, but cleaned up like new) and called them before I took it just to make sure it was for me, and it was...

Attention Denver collectors - these need a home

Seems he's ignored you and put them on eBay... I don't know why he bothered offering them on here, oh well, some people have a tendency to p*** me off. I've heard from a couple others that most of the collectors here in Denver are rather flaky, seems they were right...

How many use this as their normal machine..?

I had one exactly like Kyle's, but let it go a couple years ago. I liked it, but my main complaints were with the bags leaking more dust than I liked, and it was just kind of awkward to use.

    Is this anything special?

No, that was only on the Kenmore version.

    Is this anything special?

Bissell sold the design of the Pro-Lite to Tacony who now makes it for their Powr-Flite division, replacing the Supralite and Freedom type lightweight they were selling. They did this because too many dealers were unhappy about Powr-flite selling the same thing as the dealers. Its nothing too...

    Royal Power Tank motor substitution

My mistake, that was 230V version, not the 115V one you need, heres the right one. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Ametek-Lamb-2-Stage-5-7-Vacuum-Motor-116311-01-/370334815626?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5639acd58a#ht_1726wt_913

    Royal Power Tank motor substitution

It just takes a standard Lamb motor that tons of vacuums use. Its easiest to just get one on eBay or from a vacuum store. Heres one that will work. http://cgi.ebay.com/Lamb-Electric-Ametek-116312-03-Vacuum-Motor-/330448198239?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf03f5a5f#ht_3266wt_913

    Legend II All Done!!!

I've never honestly used the armature holding tool when changing a fan on one of those types of Kirbys. I've always been able to get the belt shaft off by turning the shaft with a pair of pliers, and holding the fan to unscrew it.

    Hoover Turbopower killed by.....

Also, if you happen to know, what is the model number of the Its a U4233.

would you do it? Should I? help me decide!

It's a kevlar belt with a rubber coating, the idea was to try and make it last longer, but they seem to need changing just as often as any regular belt.

Anyone interested in a Eureka Hot Shot

To be honest, the safest way to ship it is to put the handle in a separate long box. But if you ever have to take one apart, carefully pry the pins out with a small flat blade screwdriver, you only have to remove them from either the upper or lower half of the handle, the coupler can stay in the...

    Fairfax question

Its best to use the bags in it. But don't worry about finding the genuine bags, they don't exist, when you order them from the company that makes the vacuums, they send Envirocare bags with a sticker stating they are approved for use in the FairFax.

    Some interesting new goodies...

I see that first one being able to pick up enough dirt in the first minute to clog the filter completely. At least in my opinion that seems like a very strange combination. The second one looks a lot more useable.

Should I oil the lower motor bearing on my Hoover Convertible model 35?

Its not a good idea to oil ball bearings, it probably should be greased though.

    The Guardsman FINALLY Came!!

Am I seeing things right? Is that a clear fan in the Hoover?
  17. R

    Ok Im confused

I seriously doubt there is anything wrong with it, most of the vacuums designed like that heat up quite a bit. The reason Filter Queens have that ugly plastic grille on top of them is because they normally got so hot that you really couldn't touch them.

A Chrome and Candy Apple Red Jewel From The 50's.....

The dusting brush and crevice tool for that were gray I believe, or the few I've seen were.

What Is The Current State Of Hoover?

To me, it's really not Hoover anymore as sad as that sounds. Even though I mostly lose interest in Hoover's uprights after the 60 series was discontinued, with the 918/U7037 style being one of the few exceptions, and their canisters after they stopped making the Celebrity, they still seemed like...

    Royal Power Cast on Ebayy!

I bought one of that same model 2 years ago NIB with the attachments for $100, was too good of a deal to pass up really. It's a very heavy monstrosity, but it does clean very well. I thought it was strange that it actually has a large DC motor though, but it really turns the brushroll.
