    1974 Hoover Junior Dirtsearcher 1354A

1354A bumper Dysondestijl, I know it's a bit of a late reply, but I have a dirtsearcher model (the later top fill version with brown trim) and it's currently wearing the earlier off-white bumper which I believe is the correct one for yours. Would you be interested in a trade?

Mine's a turbo diesel in the rare dark blue colour with chrome trim :D I have owned it for over 4 years and it's been fantastic, still going well :)

Oops, my bad. I tend to assume everyone on a forum is at least as old as me!

Citroen BX citroenbx, do you own and drive a BX by any chance? I happen to be a BX owner, it's my main/only car and I wouldn't trade it for anything! sorry for the off-topicness

New Member. Wannabe owner of Hoover 6525C & 1354A

Don't worry too much about reassembling them, it's pretty straightforward really. The only bit that can be a pain is two of the motor screws (you need a very long screwdriver) I'd be happy to offer any help, advice or parts I have lying around and if you'd like to try out the one I have let me...

New Member. Wannabe owner of Hoover 6525C & 1354A

Blueq, where in Oxford are you from? I live in the Oxford area and we've got a junior like that if you'd like to see one working. It's a later one with brown trim rather than blue. I did have a spare blue standard junior in bits in the garage but I think it has been thrown out now. I do still...

    Suddenly, 3 Numatic Henries

Turbo brush... I have been using a Wessel Werk turbo brush (TK 270 - its the one that came with "Henry Plus") with the three Henries and that works really well. It feels just like an upright to use! I think when carpets are involved, the turbo brush really is a must. I have always been an...

    Suddenly, 3 Numatic Henries

Snapped a photo of the three of them today, lined up in order of age. Particularly observant folks may notice the red button missing from Henry #2 - I haven't replaced the switch yet!

    Suddenly, 3 Numatic Henries

I was considering getting a Henry or commercial Numatic for a while, when my friend mentioned his neighbour had a bunch of them which were bought as a job lot and she had given him one for free and would likely not want a lot for one. This was good news as they were going for a fair bit on eBay...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

502S Electronic Well, I couldn't let the electronic motor control gear and that neat neon power switch go to waste, could I? So here is the first 502SE (the E is for electronic ;)) with electronic motor control and 550 watts. The 502 came from a very rude and not exactly honest ebay seller...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

Electrolux Twin Turbo 517 I know, it really impresses me how quiet and light it is, and it feels more rugged than the 560. I thought the quietness was a 500 series thing though, not just a twin turbo thing, but videos of other 500 series machines seem a lot noisier (as is the 560, though I...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

So the Twin Turbo with the classic 500 hood was only on sale in 86, or did they keep making them for a few years?

    Damaged 560 report/questions

Here's the 517 :) And for the curious, I have uploaded some photos of the damage/wear on the 560 http://imageshack.us/g/38/img0949s.jpg/

    Damaged 560 report/questions

Ah, well we have the cream/blue version model 517, and I have seen a model 520 before in the same colour scheme. (i think the 520 has a more powerful motor and bag check neon) I really like the look of the 500 shaped hood, and I think it looks very nice with the rectangular "twin turbo" badge...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

Thanks for your information. So the first "Twin Turbo" machines were the ones with the 550/560 shaped hood with the ridged front? I had thought they were all released at the same time with the 502 shaped one replacing the 502s and the 550/560 ones replacing those models. Was there no entry...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

I don't think i'll be buying another 560 then ;) but I'm still after a 502s and another twin turbo (the earlier version with the original 500 shaped hood, love it) I'd also jump on a z500 if there was one available within my price range, just love the colour scheme X) It cost me £25 including...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

Gsheen, that's a good idea with the file idea. Unfortunately the belt hasn't just cut through the motor housing, it has gone all the way through part of the top cover too where the brushroll is. Hopefully at the very least i'll have a useable 560w motor and a bag container/electronic speed...

    Damaged 560 report/questions

Just to clarify, it's an electrolux 560. I have never owned a Kirby and I can't see myself wanting one really as they are a bit on the large side and I prefer clean-air machines :)

    Damaged 560 report/questions

I recieved a 560 today that I had bought off ebay. Unfortunately, it was in a bit of a poor condition below the bag unit. There were quite a few cosmetic flaws, and when I took the bottom cover off, I was quite shocked. The motor housing and ducting on the underside is cracked significantly in...

Best place to get Lux 500 hose?

I'll very soon have at least 2 Electrolux 500 series machines. The one downstairs still has it's official hose, but the one arriving soon is missing it and I will need another hose for upstairs. I have seen OEM spares on a couple websites, though a number of them no longer stock it, and those...
