Need help identifying vacuum in Old House

A couple of years ago I saw another video of this house and I wanted to see if I could find it because some of the current pictures are showing the house as "different" Currently the vacuum is in the first floor dining room, near the TV and it's closed. A couple of years ago it was on the 3rd...

    Brittle ABS Plastic

There are a couple of unrelated issues. One is product material and it's characteristics. Another is the faulty installation of ANY product. Another issue is product lifespan If you have plumbing that wasn't installed correctly, it's going to give problems but that isn't the plumbing materials...

    Aerus/Electrolux question

No, there are no seals on the cordwinders. No sealants, rubber, and the plastic enclosures have lots of gaps on the edges.[this post was last edited: 5/24/2020-20:55]

    Brittle ABS Plastic

They all deteriorate over time, it's just a matter of which type deterioration you'll put up with.

    Kenmore Central Vacuums

They had the right idea in terms of practicality. At the time, correct me if I'm wrong, Sears was the only CV with finger tip control like that. I know they had such a feature before 1978 because in 2018 a person in Duluth, MN was selling on Craigs a Kenmore CV system along with a scuzzy hose...

    Brittle ABS Plastic

I have two Eletrolox Ultralux series vacuums as well. I have an 87 Marquis and an 93 Classic. Both are in very good shape however, the top plastic frame, the top handle, and the two rear wheels are discolored on both machines. Much like yours no doubt. The exhaust port door is fine...

The Friday night special 😊 The Electrolux Diplomat LX Model 1677 😊✨✨✨😊

Again, AWESOME ! If I could give you a YELP review it would be all positive but where would I find your profile? lol I'm starting to get suspicious on how you do this. This looks like the matching model to the Ultralux LX . Same colors and lighted pn.

    Brittle ABS Plastic

Why did I know you drove an older model Eldorado Mark? And it's not in bad shape either. White leather with plum interior, very classy. That's what I love about the 80s. The car phone still working? My first car was a 4 year old 1983 Grand Marquis LS. White with blue leather. Very...

What have you done since Stay At Home ???

Where did you find the Eureka/Wards vacuum? That looks exactly like one of the first vacs I collected.

    Brittle ABS Plastic

As much as I like the plastic stuff, if it discolors, becomes brittle, or literally disintegrates into dust.... no fun in that. Metal stuff might have get rusty but can be cleaned and painted. But even vacs that have a metal body, there are lots of plastic parts. If they disintegrate, what...

Covid-19: Are your local vac shops open?

I wonder if in today's world it would be better for a local vac store owner to operate on line and from home. They could show all the used and new vacs on their webpage and when someone buys something they could deliver and pick up old vacs. No commercial over head rent? And no store hours.

Round vacuums like this aren't stairs friendly. You can't stand them on end for storage so they take less floor space in a closet. There's no on board tool storage.

    Electrolux at Service Merchandise

I remember seeing the canister at Sams in the late 90s. Can't remember the price. It seems like it was around $400

Worst condition or dirtiest vacuum you found?

Wow, thanks for the pic Mad. It's always amazing to me how people can let these things happen. Most people just aren't as thorough as us. These things have to be seen to be believed. look at how melted together and packed in that dirt is.[this post was last edited: 5/17/2020-22:53]
