WOW!
Ive never seen so many Convertibles in one place! A great collection Tommy. Thanks for posting them. I'll definately have to get one myself now!
Best wishes, Jonathan
The hose
Nice photos guys!
I cant decide whether the white hose is original. The rubber hose ends do not have the Hoover logo on them and are not the same as the Hoover 638 cleaning tools hose ends which dates from the same time. However the instruction leaflet which I also got in the box (and...
Can someone remind me what the Hoover serial numbers meant in the 1970s. I know the model number is first, but how do you work out the month and year and what do the other numbers mean?
Also, when did this system of numbering start and finish?
Question about the hose
Does anybody know whether this white hose is original to this model. Would I be right to think that the hose was blue originally?
Nice Leaflet!
Thanks for posting the Hoover leaflet Tommy. Really interesting. Looks like this model was called the Convertible in Europe, not just UK.
They’re rare now aren’t they – hardly ever see them on ebay.
If you have time I’d love to see pics of your Convertible collection – sounds...
Hi there. Normally on the vintage forum but came across 2 Turbopower cleaners and wondered if they were collectible - one is dark blue and one is grey. Sorry, should have got the model numbers. No idea how many different models were produced.
Thanks.
Thanks for the info!
Thanks everyone for the helpful info and for the great brochure photo Vacbear. Is it from 1976? Cool Starlights too -didnt know they came in 2 colours.
Stephen Ive had a look at the underside and yes it must be new old stock - it is immaculate. This has certainly never been...

wondering if anyone knows how to restore original boxes to their former glory and even if it's possible...
See my Model 6525C post from the other week
Well well well! Another orange one!
I dont know whether Hoover actually produced this orange one from the factory. Does anyone have a Hoover brochure showing one?
One of the Hoover shops I used to go to had some orange parts like rubber furniture...
I think this is a recon job - what do others think of this unusual 6525C?

Nice Juniors!
Thanks for sharing these 2.
Such a successful design they just kept on going.
I remember the Hoover shop in Hampton Wick sold a lot of reconditioned Juniors in the 1990s. A lot were reconditioned by a company called JaxVax who bought old Juniors in their hundreds and resold them...
chrome bail
Hi Stephen - yes I had the bail rechromed - the original was chromed but like most original chrome it had been badly damaged and rust had got through. The only black painted pre war bails Ive seen were one on a model 425 and on an 875. The 875 was painted black originally but I dont...
