Just restored Hoover Senior Ranger U4058

Restoration tips! Hi guys – thanks for your comments. To restore the hood and chassis: First I washed it, using washing up liquid and a toothbrush on the hard to get at areas. Then I sanded it with medium, then fine grade wet and dry sand paper to take out most of the gouges and scratches. You...

Just restored Hoover Senior Ranger U4058

Hi there everyone. Here are some photos of the vac before and after restoration. This machine works well - we are going to use it as our daily/weekly driver! Ive had a great condition orange, or should I say Aegean Gold, bag for years but have never got the Hoover to go with it until now. The...

    Hoover Senior Ranger U4147 1979

Hi all. Just making it into the vintage forum is this U4147 which I have just finished restoring. The other ones I've seen on the forum are bright red but this one is more of a muddy red colour. It's such a strange machine, with its US/UK mix. The Ranger hood with height adjuster window on top...

Any hints and tips on cleaning and mending Hoover ‘Plasticized’ Bags?

Hi there. I have recently aquired a Hoover Senior (Convertible in Canada and US) from the 1970’s which has a badly damaged outer bag. If it was a cloth I could use invisible mending patches, but I am at a loss as to how to mend the tears and holes in this plasticky material. Anyone have any...

My new baby (Hoover 26 Upright)

What a lovely machine! On the UK model (262) the light opening never had a lens cover - it served as the air intake for the motor. I imagine that it will be the same for your Model 26. - so, nothing missing!

Found this lovely Convertible (UK) Part Today - Anyone know the model?

Fantastic catalogue Tommy Back to the 70s. Strange how so many of these cleaners are so rare today. It wasnt all that long ago - or maybe thats just because I remember being a teenager in the 70s myself!

Is this the highest price ever asked for an old cleaner?

or are Latvian Electrolux cleaners particularly rare?! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vacuum-cleaner-Electrolux-Model-V-/160477183614?pt=UK_Vacuum_Cleaners&hash=item255d2f7e7e

New Arrival - from the 1950s - in its original box!

My 417E My 417E Serial number is 186123 making it around March/April 1958. Interesting - the manual indicates that it should still be maroon at this date! So an early 417E in blue with the old style toolset. Another thing that doesn't seem quite right - the flex and rubber grommit that holds it...
