mine must be older but I know the vacuum you are talking about it was made by ge but yours sounds to be in good shape mine had no hoseno cord and most of the paint is long gone

if you can get the rite paint and it must be spray paint you mayby you can fill the spot with epoxy putty I have done this and if you sand it down good and paint it good it can look new
