Trying to restore my Grandmas Old Electrolux 1205

It Should Be Pretty Easy To Take The Front Apart I have a Silverado which I believe is pretty much the same design and the front door is really easy to take apart. First you just remove the 4 screws on the back side at each corner. If yours are stuck it is probably that the screws have...

    Electrolux Silverado plastic yellowing

Mine had it to I acquired a Silverado tank and hose from my grandma a few months ago. I cleaned it up and made it look a lot better but the plastic on the upper panel and On/Off switch had turned to an ugly shade of almost greenish brown probably from UV rays as she kept it out in the kitchen...

    Electrolux Silverado

Fixed It! I haven't logged in for a while but I was able to fix my grandma's old Silverado after all. I ordered the generic switch without the bracket plate from a reputable vacuum parts store on Amazon and it fixed my problem, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to rivet the new switch onto...

    Electrolux Silverado

New Silverado Owner I just brought home my grandma's Silverado Deluxe that she bought new from the door to door Electrolux Salesman in the early 80's. It's covered in carbon dust and 30+ years of dirt and grime. She no longer had the wired hose or PN as they quit working years ago. She had...

    Hoover Power MAX canisters.

Wind Tunnel Canister One of the places where my grandparents rented in Florida had a Hoover Wind Tunnel canister in hunter green from the late '90s. When they first got there they found the power nozzle pretty much inoperable. I think the motor was seized with dust and hair and the belt...

Royal Power Tank canister - help!

Check with Lamb/Ametek I would see if Lamb/Ametek could give you any direction. They still manufacture motors very similar to what was used in the Royal tanks so maybe they still use the same or compatible bearings.

Royal Classic canister 4650 cloth bag assembly replacement

Not that I'm aware of I do not know of any aftermarket cloth bags for the Royal tanks. I would watch eBay as OEM come up from time to time. Is your bag worn or the rubber gasket that goes around the outer rim? If the gasket is the issue you may still be able to get them. I bought a couple a...

Donating a vacuum cleaner collection of a lifetime

Town Car I spotted the Town Car too! My grandparents had an '89 Signature Series when I was a kid and I loved it! My other "cool" grandparents drove a '91 Firebird at the time but I didn't really care, I was into the Town Car! It's a shame there is nothing left from Detroit that even...

calling all late 1970's kenmore powermate collectors, belt/ brushroll question!

Brush Strips I am pretty sure these brush strips were the same or very similar used in newer Kenmore Power Mates up to the early 2000's, Royal, and Panasonic power nozzles used up to the same time period. The Royal part number was 1460625000 and were made by Matsushita (Panasonic). I got a...

    Sanitaire Model 643

Question for superocd... Superocd, you mentioned calling vacuum shops across the country for NOS parts. I have considered doing this myself in search of parts for my Royal tank but was wondering if there is a good resource of larger or well established vacuum shops in the US or did you just...

    Royal 4150 Commercial tank

The Cord Had 3 Wires The 4150 cord had 3 wires as opposed to 2 on the others, that is why it is thicker.

    NIB Royal Power Team

They are pretty reliable in my experience Garrett, I think by now if the vacuum is still going strong after over 20 years you should be good. I have bought and refurbished probably about a dozen of these now and they all for the most part have run very well except for maybe a noisy bearing on...

    NIB Royal Power Team

One of my dream machines! My dream vacuum would be to find a NOS Royal 4700 or 4750 still in the box. The last 4600 or 4650 with the Panasonic power nozzle would be neat to. I did find a NOS 4600 made in 1993 with the Filter Queen power nozzle bought on eBay about 3 years ago for $150 and...

My NOS Royal Prince 501 Broke :( The vacuum ate the belt

I had the same thing happen... I had the same thing happen with my Dirt Devil 103 hand held vacuum. I was vacuuming my stairs and got to the last step and it ate the belt. I noticed the belt was slipping pretty badly for most of the time I was sweeping the stairs so I am sure it needed to be...

    Airway Sanitizor 55A motor disassembly

Do You have any NOS Royal parts Jimmy? Jimmy, do you have any NOS parts for the last Royal metal tanks. I have a 4700 my grandma gave me I have restored to near new condition and would especially like to get an upper wand part No. 2470130A00. I would also be interested in other miscellaneous...

Abused Royal model 3000 begging for a new home

Maybe you should part it out. If it has many usable parts I would think that would be the most likely way of making your money back. Since most parts on these old Royals are NLA people are willing to pay decent amounts for used parts in good working condition. I would think you could get...
