Any interest in a Royal 602?

My apologies for the no-so-good pics. I was running out of daylight and my work area is not lit well.

Any interest in a Royal 602?

70' model. It Runs. Bag faded but intact. Pretty sure it's original. Brush roller doen't look too bad. Belt shaft is a little bent, makes a hum sound as a result. Cord looks like a gray replacment. Just put in an F&G bag and tested it out.

    the old,the rare,and the odd.

Diggin' that Whispertone SP, Vacman! Those were fun to work on back in the day. Wouldn't mind finding one for myself.

    Electrolux Canister w/Power Nozzle

I would take a Diamond J over any plastic body Lux. It has the tougher metal body and has the stronger motor, like a 6000. I guess the downside would be the fact that it won't have the after-filter or on-board storage for all of the attachments.

    Gar-Bage Finds For Today

There was a recall on those Hoover cord reels. Many problems. The black Eureka SP is pretty cool. The drive mechanism is pretty unique. It used a cable, small independant motor, and gearbox to drive the one wheel (if I remember correctly). Not many of these around. Seeing that red Bissel...

    weird fantom thing

Someone might have removed the wiring. I can't recall ever seeing a Fantom Thunder/ Kenmore Destiny without lights. I worked on ALOT of them for Sears. The screws to access the motor are located on the bottom surface of the machine. It's like a cap that holds in the motor to the main body. You...

    Kirby suction fans

Try not to install aftermarket fans. I used to use them but then started seeing the machines come back soon after the replacement was put in. The material just isn't right. Same goes for just about any other machine brand. They're either brittle and don't last or the fan isn't properly molded...

    This made me laugh!

See that with alot of "old" stuff in my neck of the woods. Old power equipment, old glassware, old decorations, and so on...

    electrolux renaissance

There is a circuit board inside the canister that controls the motor, in cooperation with the electronics in the hose handle. Either could cause a control issue if faulty. See if you are able to select other motor speeds and cleaning modes on the handle.

    Best Decade for Vacuums

Ben, As far as Rainbow, considering all attributes, only the D4's to pre-2005 E series are worth any time to me. The older metal 'Bows were tough machines and ran a long while, but motor rebuild time is a bear. Suckolux, I would agree with you on that.

    Kirby suction fans

It's good insurance to replace the fan whenever servicing a Kirby. Just about every one I do will get a fan unless it's relatively new. Those fans take a beating.

The Sound of Power Nozzle Motors...

It is misleading about that Whisperbelt thing. In the nozzles with the 5285 cogged belt, the only time the belt itself gets loud is when it starts to come apart and skip the teeth. The one thing that is benifical to the Whisperbelt is the fact that it's a serpentine type. Very realiable and hard...

    Best Decade for Vacuums

A person into Sears stuff like myself would probably tell you the Whirlpool-made/ designed machines were the best, and were still decent even during the early Panasonic days. By the late 90's though, Kenmore stuff just wasn't as rugged anymore. As for the Panasonic's, I refer the mid 90's as...
