    NO ONE ON THIS SIGHT

Of course you do realize that it was not necessarily someone from this site? I've had MANY pictures grabbed from all kinds of forums I participate in. Once on the open web, any picture, at any time, can be grabbed by anyone.

what vacuums do you use the most?

OK, I'll jump on this old revived thread too! I am alternating between Omega (fully restored by me), and Heritage II (also restored by me). It depends which area of the house I'm cleaning. If I have a lot of dog hair, and pieces of dog food to pick up (in the area of the house the dogs have...

    Heritage 2

Thank you. I'll get the ample supply of newer HEPA bags. I ordered only three "Style 3" bags, when I was purchasing parts for it (just to try). I know about the rear axle. Like I said, I have extra Omega motor unit, that I purchased for parts, and the axle off of that should do nicely, along...

    Heritage 2

Thank you gentlemen. One last question.......will all "newer/better" bags fit on H2 tube (currently using "Style 3")? If only some will fit, can you specify which ones should I get for this machine?

    Getting a free Kirby tomorrow!

Great job. These two fit together.

    Heritage 2

The question here is,......"to customize, or not". I know purists will cringe to any modifications, but since I am not a serious collector, it doesn't matter to me. I do have the old plastic emtor (with the broken connector collar) that I could cut up. I also have a spare Omega emtor (bought a...

    Heritage 2

I appreciate your response. Could you please elaborate on your statement that plastic emtor, is what makes H2 a better vac? I dislike plastic, and one of the reasons I am attracted to older Kirbys, is the minimal amount of plastic on them. I realize that it's not a "problem" per se, and it will...

    Heritage 2

This morning, I used my newly acquired Heritage 2 for the fist time. It was restored, and some pieces were missing (scuff plate, and hubcaps), and being as anal as I am, I didn't want to use it until it was complete. It was finally completed last night. I was AMAZED! It's way quieter than Omega...

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

This is great! I'd like to have more vacs (maybe ONE more!), and then I need to stop "collecting". I'm mostly joking about the wife, but the fact is,.....there is no time to pick up some more. See,.....I am "sick" (LOL). Since I have four dogs living with us in the "big house" (that's what we...

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

I meant,......forgive me for using the pic of your collection to prove to my wife that I am not as bad as some of you.

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

Alex,..... what can I say? Please forgive me, but I'll save the picture of your collection, and email it to my wife (as a proof that I am FAR from being "certifiable"!! LOL). Seriously,.....that's one GREAT looking group. Congrats. Regarding Richard,......one of the generals I was serving...

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

Lucky for both of us that we were not named Richard! I would hate that. LOL Another member also offered SD80, and I found one locally, about 45 min away. Neither provided pics yet (which I requested). Not to look at "vacuum cleaner porn", but to try to determine the amount of my elbow grease...

    Getting a free Kirby tomorrow!

That's nice. Free Kirby is always good. Couple of new wheels, through cleaning, polishing should go easy (no big dents/scratches),.....I think you scored.

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

Thank you for the words of encouragement guys! Wife says that half jokingly, for she knows I can not have just "one" of anything (just in case!). LOL "smow69"......I didn't fully understand your post.....are you saying that you have DS80 in avocado green for sale? If so,....I'm game! Let me know.

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

Thank you Dan (BTW, I insist that they call me by my full name, I dislike "shortcuts"!). Now I'm on the prowl to buy Sanitronic 80 (built in 1967, for my wife's birth year)!! "Addictive personality"? Maybe. But it's a good addiction (as opposed to drugs, tobacco, and alcohol). OCD to the...

My wife thinks this makes me "certifiable"!

So,.......I've been bitten by a "Kirby bug", and my wife thinks I need a 'cure" ASAP! As I said before,.....I knew about Kirbys, ...I knew the "spiel", ....and I knew the pricing, negotiations (much like car dealerships, and I owned two of them), and I knew the "lure and lore", but I never...

    Kirby Classic III Cleanup/Restore

You are in good company here. These guys know everything about vacuums. There are very few things more satisfying, than restoring/rescuing something neglected, and abused, giving it a "new life", and restoring it to it's former glory (to me anyway, and discounting other pleasures in...

    Another restoration project!

Just ordered from "KirbyNeeds" (purchased from him before).....cord, emtor and tube (used)....total almost $60 bucks. So I have to do all the work in polishing/servicing, and I'm in about $80! Still a hell of a vacuum for $80, but feel like I was "taken" by the seller (no doubt!). IF I ever go...

    Another restoration project!

Thanks Gents. The fan is white, no cracks, no missing blades. I need a new emtor and tube, new power cord, and it will be a nice unit.

    Another restoration project!

Heritage 2 restoration underway Well,.....now that everything was taken apart, I know why this was such a "sweet" deal! Besides the cord, this thing needs mini emtor, and the fill tube! Tube was totally shot, and the emtor was glued with PL400 construction glue on the inside! The rim (ledge...
