    Dyson filter soiling issue

I should note, I still believe the filter and airflow is part of the problem. My original 11 amp Fantom Thunder had virtually nothing but carbon dust on the filter (and certainly no big lint) when we decided to change it after maybe 3 years of daily use back in the 1990s and it still works. I...

    Dyson filter soiling issue

I'd expect some soiling but it seems like a tad much. Is there any source of fine dust like ash, carpet fresh? Additionally did you use any sort of detergent on them that could impede airflow and cause less efficient filtration? The first picture looks a bit excessive for 2 months at that. I...

So why have Dyson re-introduced the DC33?

The Ball Dysons are hard on your wrist. I prefer the non ball versions.

    Fantom Fury.

Fantom was available well before the DC01 The 9 & 11 amp Thunders/Domestic/Destiny was already being sold commercially though with limited availability as early as 1989/90. They imported them local to me from Canada to the Buffalo area, later when Fantom got big they were distributed from a...

    Dyson Cinetic Launched in Canada

DC07 vs Thunder I have a DC07 as well. The Thunder will outclean it and the DC33 on carpets. The DC07 has great hose suction but balances terribly making it incredibly difficult to use tools with. The a Fantom vs. Dyson evidence is just evidence that the cyclonic design can be applied more...

    Dyson Cinetic Launched in Canada

DC28 vs. Fantom Thunder Don't believe this video unless the Thunder isn't at the right height setting or has badly worn brush roller, and it is too dim to really see anything. I've used a DC33 and Thunder/Domestic many times, the Dyson brush roller isnt particularly effective on a lot of types...

    Dyson Cinetic Launched in Canada

Ok... So like the Rainbow it isn't for ash and plaster dust, the cost increases immensely and it is probably made in Malaysia. So if I'm not vacuuming ash and plaster dust I can buy a USA made machine with a better powerhead design that out cleans it and will probably last 20 years or more...

New old stock. Eureka and Hoover bagged vacs (late 90s early 2000s)

I have no pics, frankly the whole thing didn't even cross my mind until I was on here reading a thread about vacs off this era that it clicked. I had gone to the store looking for something entirely different. I'm pretty much working the next 9 days straight at the moment. The soft body ones are...

    RAINBOW E2 2011-2014

The only thing with the newest one is it seems slightly heavier, perhaps due to the new wheel dolly.

    RAINBOW E2 2011-2014

You don't need to take it in every 4-5 years unless you're lazy at maintenance, suck up ash, drywall, leave it on a wet basin and never clean the separator. Selling these I could tell you there are countless unserviced D4s still around. If it were me, given the cost of a new one, I might take it...

New old stock. Eureka and Hoover bagged vacs (late 90s early 2000s)

The reason I'm doing it is because I've been very fortunate at finding what I want (perhaps too much so in respect to some Fantoms), Fantoms and Rainbows, and while these personally don't attract my interest doesn't mean they aren't someone else's dream machine. As I told those who emailed me...

New old stock. Eureka and Hoover bagged vacs (late 90s early 2000s)

Ok here is how I will handle this... To make this as fair as possible, since this has generated a lot of interest, what I'll do is once I have the models and prices I will send a list to the people that emailed me. If more than one person is interested in a given model but there is only one...

New old stock. Eureka and Hoover bagged vacs (late 90s early 2000s)

Any collectors looking for these? I know of a place that has a few brand new, stuff like earlier bagged Windtunnels, soft bagged uprights. I stumbled across these by accident. They are full original price of whatever they sold for when they came out. If these appeal to anyone let me know via...

Dyson cyclone filtration, not that hot based on filters, are filters to blame?

The pre motor filter was filthy in both the DC33 and DC07, I maintain both vacuums accordingly. I don't believe the motors are powerful enough, with those filters in those models, to efficiently separate the dirt in the cyclone assembly, you are welcome to disagree but pit either of those...

Scored a Rainbow E Series dirt cheap!

I'm fairly familiar so I did a pretty complete cleaning. In my findings it had probably serviced before, someone cracked one of the mounts to the top cover in a way I don't think was from dropping, so I think it was serviced and not by the distributor (guy at our office is Rainbow trained with...

Dyson cyclone filtration, not that hot based on filters, are filters to blame?

I use a DC33 and DC07 on occasion, recently purchased another Rainbow E Series from a thrift for $10 and was cleaning it today so I used the DC33. I've used it maybe 15-20 times since I last cleaned the filters around February. I'm not cleaning anything out of the ordinary, not getting an...

"Selling because we got rid of our carpet"

You'd be surprised, people often use just a Swiffer if they've got all hardwoods and often just have a tiny hand vac for furniture and stuff. You would be surprised how much dirt accumulates in those tiny cracks in a hardwood floor without a vacuum. Some of the people at out local Rainbow office...

    Reattaching Rainbow SE Gasket?

Scored a Rainbow E Series dirt cheap!

Kinda excited about this one. Found a Rainbow E Series with Aquamate II for $9.99 from a thrift store. Already have one but that's not the point, it was cheap and you never see them. I could buy a Kirby a week, but never see Rainbows, this is the 4th in years of thrift store hunting and I bought...

    RAINBOW E2 2011-2014

The newest model has a different wheel dolly and powerhead. Whether the dolly benefits you depends on your layout but the powerhead is amazing. It could be adapted to anything as far back as the single speed E Series relatively easily (I'm sure patching it into the D4 is possible with...
