Hero Shot Thanks for the heads up and advice on some of the little stuff. It looked dull in the other shots, so here goes. It is the 3 amp with the old logo, but there is the newer 10 blade fan in there. I think it has been serviced over the years.

    Gone Polishing Crazy

well, I thought I would throw this in here as a incentive for anyone who is considering trying to shine up his or her vintage appliances. This floor polisher was in the free pile at a garage sale here about 6 months ago. I have passed on a few of these but this one had the Buffing pads and the...

Another view Another note -- due to an industrial accident that damaged some of the oak floor in one of the other rooms the bag got wet and discolored and even had some white lines of stuff forming on them. I read carefully the posts on washing the bag and decided that since it was so terrible...

shined up and ready to go Well I have been honing my polishing skills, and all I can add to the limited knowledge I have is that I invested in some 3000 grit which is the last I use and it polishes up real nice after that. these are taken with a flash and I think natural light looks a little...

    1953 Kirby in action

Well, here is a recent aquisition, I couldn't resist. Actually I had just read Bill's thread on the rare 511 and I spotted this at the local Goodwill outlet. Now between dumpster diving and going to a high end antique shop, the goodwill outlet is alot like dumpster diving and I don't...

late 60s Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80

another view I'm not too sure this was such a great candidate for a little restoration, but this thift store is one I drive by almost every day. Anyway, in some ways it shines more in person than the photo indicates, but I think I am going to purchase some different compound to try to shine it...

late 60s Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80

I wanted to give a thank you for the heads up on this late 60s Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 given by Kirbyotronic on my other thread. He mentioned he had one so he didn't buy this one. It was just $7 but has the wrong handle and the bag was no good. Actually Alex, when I went to check it out it was...

    Kirby Model 513 -- 4 amp

Bill That is so cool, I'll have to look into getting that compound, I'll try googling it or can the local Vac shop get it? Would love to see a "before" picture. BTW I picked up a 3 amp 513 a few days ago and am about to shine it up. It works great. Thanks for the inspiration.

    Kirby Model 513 -- 4 amp

Thanks, I must say that one really is shiney, and it was in poor condition! How did you do that? That Mother's polishing compound is great but it must take multiple passes to get it to look that good.

    Kirby Model 513 -- 4 amp

They do look beautiful, great work. I have been wondering about the relative rareness of some of these machines. Is the 3 amp harder to find? I also noticed on another thread that someone thought a 511 was rare, (BTW was that due to the cost of living in '51 or the Korean war or something?)...

Zipper on Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80 bag - Whats it for?

I have a few theories but honestly am not sure. On top of that the zipper is broken on this one so it looks like it has a "problem" when it is running, so whether or not I work on this one depends on how easy it is to fix this bag -- it doesn't look too easy to replace that zipper but I haven't...

This picture isn’t staged, my little son loves moving this Kirby around. I wouldn’t say we can rely on him doing this chore though. Thanks for looking. - Brian

    My Hoover 28

New Kirby I guess I don’t have enough to do what with Christmas cards and shopping and work, but I went ahead and shined this one up in my spare time. BTW this thing was really hammered, it had some bad scratches, so I had to pour it on. I used to own a Premier 35 and had shined it up as...

    My Hoover 28

As I was preparing this thread wouldn’t you know it put another one popped up at the thrift store. I actually passed on it and was driving away but had a change of heart and went back and got it. One of the reasons why was at this same store I once saw what I think was a early fifties Kenmore...

    My Hoover 28

Very Small collection Here is a picture of a Regina Electric Broom I actually have had for quite some time. I use this in the kitchen and even some times in the work room. It really is handy for what it does. At the time I got it I determined that it was from 1959, and upon doing that...
