    My Hoover 63

Thanks for that info. I do have a 28 so I guess I'll say they go with it. It is nice that they are interchangeable.

    My Hoover 63

But here is a question for you, Here is the attachments that were with it... the carry case is a little damaged, I wonder if anyone out there has a good photo of what it looks like so I can repair this one and put the parts in the right place. It also came with the hose, it was mostly complete...

    My Hoover 63

I don't think I will do much to this, it is not like new but not bad enough to repaint, etc. A little patina is okay for a machine this old unless it is trashed. I have looked through the archives on this with much interest, it looks like I can see SEP 30 1961 on the bottom, does this sound...

    My Hoover 63

Seems to work just fine and is a nice addition to the other Hoovers I have. I have passed on a few others that are similar as they were in such poor condition, but I have never seen this blue one... It works great and so well built.

    My Hoover 63

Well Hi all I stopped by an estate sale the other day and had to get this poor Hoover 63 -- it looked to be in good condition and was tucked away in the basement behind the heater...

    Horror stories!

We just went through this, my wife was not amused but it sounded kinda funny to me. So anyway this nice couple came to the door and volunteered to clean the stairs with the new Kirby, so my wife said okay. When her back was turned a totally different person brought in a bunch of boxes and...

    First beater bar?

I looked in the archives but didn't see this or could not find it. Does anyone know who came out with the first rotating brush in the head? I've just seen a really old hotpoint, it looks like it is from the teens but it looks like it has a rotating brush in the nozzle. Thanks.

Found a neat Kenmore handheld today

and looked around for anything about it but couldn't find this exact model. Just wondering if anyone else has one. I think it is from the earlier eighties but am not sure. I haven't looked for replacement bags yet but I am a little worried that they are going to be hard to find. I anyone has...

Vintage Hoovers, gas stoves, fridges etc in Los Angeles

Small world Well, I got out an old cash register that I have been storing in the attic for the last 22 years to clean it up and found a receipt for rent from 1985 for when I was renting a room at 1325 W. Adams. I had forgotten the address and my landlord's name, Robert Scott, so I googled it...

    Constellation handle rebuild

Well, here it is painted with a light tan spray paint. I was able to finesse some of the imperfections out that were visible after the primer with just sandpaper. I am still on the lookout for a rusty non-working one that has the handle intact. But in all these years I have never seen one of...

    Constellation handle rebuild

Here it is primed with a thick coat of primer. I plan on wet sanding this a little with really fine sandpaper after it dries

    Constellation handle rebuild

Here is that area sanded down. I am thinking there will form a stress crack there but it will be better than nothing. The handle feels real strong.

    Constellation handle rebuild

here is putting on some bondo to fill in that missing gap

    Constellation handle rebuild

The front of the handle was broken above the screw, so in order to make it strong again I poured some fiberglass into the cavity there. I was a little worried this would melt the plastic but it didn't.

    Constellation handle rebuild

Well I got this Constellation at a store called the Goodwill outlet a while ago. It works fine but unfortunately I didn't get there in time to save it from getting its handle broken. The Goodwill outlet is not like a regular store and things can get thrown around a bit. I was fortunate to...

GE Roll-Easy damaged in shipping ;(

How bad is crumbled?. You could glue it with modeler's glue. I see that there is a plate on the top so a lot of "shoring up" could be done inside and not visible from the outside.

    Dating Hoover 28s

Thank you, yes, that is the same machine. First thing I did was shine up the bakelite top. I have an HVLP paint sprayer, though I shoot it (th air) at 100 psi so it isn't very "low pressure" but I find it just works better that way. I too had the paint color matched to a piece on the bottom...

    Dating Hoover 28s

Hero shot I am really a fan of this Dreyfuss design. I know this is a relatively common machine but I will be sorely tested if another one shows up in not picking it up. Hopefully this one will survive another 60 years. Thanks for looking, and again, if anyone has a specific year to the...
