The First Air Driven Turbo Carpet Nozzle?

I know Preco made their air driven nozzles for a lot of different machines during that era but I dont know when they first came out. My 1960 Lewyt 120 has one (it was an option) as does my 1964 Singer C7 Power Master (also an option). The 1958 and 1959 Singer ads show the preco nozzle in them...

    Recently acquired Fairfax

Actually the metal base machine without the power nozzle connection was just the first version that Fairfax put out. That is a larger base than normal though (which was an optional piece) The dolly that the machine rolls around on is removable. I have the slightly later version which still...

    Goblin Major Model 2

Walter Covered Most of it - The Major was made from 1933 - 39 or 40 (when ever the factory switched over for war production) Yours would be the second version of it. This is the first version (from my collection) with all the parts. After the war they changed to the T2 for commercial use.

    Singer CSS-500C

Hey Guys. I've had this machine for quite a while but no parts with it. I am trying to figure out what the parts looked like that were for it so I can try to find them. Only clue I have is it says that the outlet was for the optional SPN-100 power nozzle (lol and I don't even know what that...

    Power Nozzle for Canadian Electrolux

The rivit isnt crimped so you dont have to grind it off. All you do is use a screwdriver or a small punch on the brush roll side to push it out then a flat screwdriver on the other side to completely remove it. Replace it just by pushing it into place.

What did your parents/family think of your collecting vacuums?

Growing up in the 70s my parents initially looked at it as just a strange obsession that would eventually pass. (They did even buy me a toy vacuum for Christmas). What really changed their attitude toward it though was when Stan Kann started his show on the Television here. Suddenly the...
