What kinds of LED bulbs can I use with my vintage vacs?

Heritage and Legend use a single contact bulb with the bayonet base as the other contact. Good luck finding one of those in an LED.

    Rexair Model B Main Bearings??

88500 and 88502 are the bearing numbers, not part numbers, you will see those numbers on the side of the bearing. A New Departure bearing will have the number 88500 K. The lower bearing may be a NDH bearing which would have a number of 3202 BG. If you go to your local bearing shop and ask for...

How Do I Take Apart A Hoover Model 28 Brushroll?

The cap that is on the end of the Brush Roll with the bearing in it will come out and you can get whatever is inside out (rocks gravel etc) When you put it back together make sure the little tab on the bearing holder lines up with the notch in the roll housing.

So? Does this mean I shouldn't bring my Rexair series A in for service? I think it's overdue for a service by maybe a couple of years.

HOOVER 541 bearing play as a result of wear

The motor bearings in the 541 are just bronze sleeve bearings. Since this isn't a Robbins & Myers motor you don't have to worry about the set screw holding the bearing in. The bearings on a 541 motor are driven out with a drift pin tool, the new bearings are driven in with the drift pin...

HOOVER 541 bearing play as a result of wear

Yes, the bearings can be replaced, but you have to have the reamer to align everything. If you have the Hoover service manual it tells you how to do that.

    Royal Model 235C Winter project

Stopped a Thrift Store in Orland Park and found this Royal model 235C for $9.50. It's kind of a rose color hammertone finish, 110 Volt, 300 Watts. I figure it will be something to play with in the winter.

    Electrolux weight

It was the model S that was advertised as the lightest vacuum in the world. The S just had a front door that just clipped on. It didn't have the inner workings that the model L had in the door (which adds a slight amount of weight).
