    Chrome vintage Mixmaster complete set

Any of these era mixers would need to at least be dismantled, cleaned out, and relubed if they are going to be used on a routine basis. By now the grease in most of the gearboxes will have been hardened to the consistency of tar. Running them with firm grease puts extra strain on the motor...

    Chrome vintage Mixmaster complete set

The one for sale looks just like my chrome as shown in post 7 of this thread: https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?34172_82 Picture 3 depicts the brown colored trim. It has the same accessories too. It just needs a cleaning and a polish to make it look as good as mine. The...

    Chrome vintage Mixmaster complete set

Saw this set at my friend's thrift store in Plano, the Plaid Tag at Ave 5 and Park. Did not get a picture as I did not think of this site since it was not a vacuum. But today I realize someone here might like it. Was only 19.99 for the set and it was in good shape - just needed a cleanup and a...

    here's one !

Your right - that thing is so messed up it threw me way off! Handle, motor and emtor is 5xx. It has the potential for being a neat machine, but for about 25 bucks as is.

    here's one !

Nope, just an unoriginal D80, fresh in from the barn. Couldn't they at least restore it first? Thats the only way it could possibly bring that kind of price to the right person...

Kirby G5 Handle Pivot Spring Assembly.

Sounds like a case of being blinded by the obvious, lol... We all have done that probably more times than we wish to admit.. At least you got the part at a decent price and you can put it away with your attachments, just in case it does break. I remember by Tradition often falling over when I...

Kirby Classic Omega- Here's a Horse of a Different Color..

I have an all blue 1CR from the closed Plano service shop. I need to restore it some day (will leave it blue).

Anyone having luck with estate sales in there area?

In my area, estate sales had sucked, to say it gently. If run by the family of the estate owner, then bargains could be had. However I had not been to one of these for decades. If run by a estate sale company (like most are now here), don't even bother. I remember where canned goods in a...

    Kirby 1-CR

Ah, Kirby's odd-duck - the Classic 1CR... This machine was the transitioning the D80 to a new wide nozzle vac (with resulting larger motor) right before the UL double insulated rule came into play and forced them to redesign the motor again into what would be the upcoming Omega. Most of the...

    Old Kirby brushroll question

Rule of thumb - 1/8" of bristles should protrude from rug plate.

Fixing bag on Kirby Heritage II

Never seen this issue either. I question if it was reassembled correctly during rebuild. I actually find it a little challenging getting these off. You are inserting the folded areas of the bag up into each of the metal prongs, one at a time? Are the metal prongs easy to bend? They should not be.

    Selling at Antique Malls?

I had inquired on selling at the last antique mall I went to. It was out in a country town, no big chain place. About 166 a month for a small stall, which was reasonable. They set you up on some online thing that tracked your sales. You would also get the 1099 also as if you sold online. Not...

Sunbeam Mixmaster 12 speed motor latch...

Is this the heavy all-metal mixer and base? If so, do you have the spring for the latch? I have the metal version and its latch spring is pretty stout, making pin re-assembly difficult (esp with arthritic hands).

The Vac shop clean out begins

Thanks Jimmy, no rush. And I meant to say attachments that will FIT on a 505's hose couplers, red/gray color. My 505 is not stock - it has all red trim. The grey bag I seek will go on it to replace its brown one.

The Vac shop clean out begins

As much as I wanted to take a pilgrimage over there, being halfway across the country and working a stubborn job makes it very difficult. By time I could go (like next year), everything would be gone. I would also feel compelled to fill up my truck without a place to put the stuff at home...

Kirby G5 Handle Pivot Spring Assembly.

As far as I know, that assembly is not serviceable. No individual parts exist for the mechanism. However it was used in multiple G series models, the differences being only the trim piece (boot and knob) colors (and those pieces could be transferred to the new assembly easily)

    Heritage and heritage 84

Blaze on this forum would probably know any and all differences. I remember him having a great liking to the Heritage 84 and had bought all the ones I had rescued from the closed Plano service shop. I cannot remember his user name though. I am with Human, probably just decal differences and...

    Old phones

Yes, mine is a 500DM (dial, modular plug). It weighs a full 4lbs. I remember long ago when I was a kid I was on my mom's similar phone and I got too far away from the base. My sister was sitting below it on the floor when I had pulled the base unit off the counter and onto her head...

A picture of my phone, plus the North Pole phone directory just right for this time of year. The phone book is real, not a novelty.

What a Stressful Weekend it Was - Please Read This...

Robert, I knew it - the connections tie together. Such a cool video - love the song choice. The resolution does not bother me - it fits the vintage equipment being shown. I still watch VHS tapes. To me the tech is less important than the content quality. Of course any remakes, or additions...
