Early Production Health Mor Sanitation System Vacuum

Health-Mor upright. Very impressive. I also have one with a full set of attachments, including small bag. These were great machines but as far as I know, it was the only upright before they went with the canister design.

very old possiblely 1909 whole house Vac system

Hi Kirbyman65. The Whirlwind was a non-electric, hand crank device, but as you see, had all the components of traditional uprights that were to follow. Without doubt the Electric Suction Sweeper, which became the Hoover model O was the first practical machine. However, James B. Kirby also had...

Actually the machine pictured above is one of the first pneumatic vacuum cleaners, but the term 'Worlds Oldest' is incorrect as the the first vacuum cleaner was invented in Chicago, Illinois in 1869. Inventor was Ives W. McGaffy, and called the Whirlwind.

The reason for the chain is to hang it on a doorknob if the user prefers not to mount it on the cleaner.

This is called a Companion, and it is part of the post-war Electrolux model XXX. It rests on top of the cleaner and serves as a holder for the rug tool, floor brush, dusting brush, and upholstery tool.

Does anyone know the name of pigtail plugs?

The Cord winder was made for Electrolux by the Vacuum Cleaner Corporation of Philidelphia, Pennsylvania from the mid 1940's to the 70's starting with the post war model XXX. History of steam cleaners/carpet cleaners?

Electrolux floor polisher. Paul, there was a three brush polisher with the model 5 (V) in 1924, I think it was B-1. Can't say for sure if it had attachments to wash carpets. I'll check my Electrolux paperwork.
