Yeah, but did the VG II come with square ends? I tend to believe all Eureka's used hex ends by the time the VG II came out. Yes, I have several Eureka uprights with the VG I (one) with square ends.

I bought a Eureka from a fellow collector that had the vibra-groomer II with square ends (just like the one pictured above). I thought someone just switched the end caps. I do not think these were made like that.

The 33 that is on eBay right now is located in the panhandle of Oklahoma . I've had at least three. I'm not terribly found of the color. But still a well-built Hoover!

Both great vacuums and should do well on your shag carpet!

They are prone to snap off where the bag meets the base. I’ve had a couple, and they were extremely loud to me. They cleaned well, but I personally feel the Hoover elites were built much better than these. I saw one at a thrift store last year, but I passed and bought the rebranded Eureka instead.

Good Chuck is a great guy and was so nice to the club at the convention last year.

Looks like the newsletters that I have in my attic. A lot of the information is repetitive. I think John has them now since last year's convention.

The lower amp blender motors smelled like that after running for awhile and getting hot. You may need a new sleeve bearing housing for the top and/or grease the fan side bearing. Those motors are kind of finicky.

I just sold mine on eBay for $36.00. I thought it would go higher. Because I thought the younger collectors would be all over it. I greased both motor bearings in mine.

I know other collectors say that David Oreck took or stole the lightweight upright design from Whirlpool. Other vacuum companies have done the same thing or similar, right? Didn't Tacony take their original upright design from Panasonic? I think even Dyson did something similar. I was bummed...

You shouldn't care if it is rare. If you like it that is all that matters. Besides rare is relative. You may only see one in your area, and I may see more than one in mine.

My best friend put one of those stickup air fresheners in the bag compartment and closed the lid. Left it for about a week and a half and the smell was gone.

I don't really like the Slimlines, Portables, Connies or any of the older Hoover straight suction canisters. I currently do not have any of those in my collection aside from a family member's green Slimline in the box. However, I'm totally with you on the convertibles especially the 60 series...
