    40th Anniversary Oreck XL

I like the gold accents in that model. I think it's sharp looking..

Dirt devil deluxe upright with LED lightbulb

One of the models I had required a 12 volt bulb. Maybe it was the 12 amp model. I currently have one of the older deluxe models. Here is a thread I found when researching the part number. https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?32524

Dirt devil deluxe upright with LED lightbulb

You need a 12 volt bulb. Like an auto bulb for those.

    Observation

I looked at this again looks like the sealed suction 0.22 is higher on the Concept than the others. Which probably means more tool suction. I'm interested in how the Concept can have way less airflow than the other vacs listed and more suction.

    Observation

I was looking for information on my JCPenney upright that I received two weeks ago. I noticed that item (5) the economy vac (I have this one as well) has more CFMs than the most expensive vac in the group. The Concept one was only rated at 41 CFM. My guess is that the type C bag setup had more...

Hoover Convertible Full Hood - 2 Styles

Picture 1 - "Elite" has the high-performance motor in it. Maybe, the newer design was to coincide with that. I think there were several different designs. I got a plastic base Jc Penney convertible this past weekend and the hood is different than the two posted. [this post was last edited...

Mighty Lite ML1200-A - Eureka Rebrand

Good info. I had one of these myself. I’m not sure how rare they are. There was one on eBay for a long time.

    My strange paper shredder collection

It's funny... This weekend I unclogged a shredder for one of my senior friends. I believe it was labeled Royal. There wasn't an easy way to access the shredding teeth which is probably on purpose. With a knife and several tries of reversing it the clog finally cleared. My friend was happy and...

    Top Side Canister Cord Rewinds

Guess, I'm not following the logic here. I don't see how a cord would receive any less damage coming out the side vs the top.

    Aerus Lux Attachment

Gary, They use different openings.. the Guardian attachment ends are smaller. If you do a search on here you will probably have the same conclusion. I’ve read the guardian attachments are compatible with the Tristar.. lux dropped recently. But not with the legacy. Didn’t Electrolux stop...

    Aerus Lux Attachment

I'm not sure if a black Legacy flip over tool exists. I have a black Legacy as well and it came a bare floor only tool. https://www.aerusvacuums.com/globalassets/sellsheets/LC_SS_Legacy_Canister_SellSheet_0423.pdf

No. Legacy and platinum attachments are not interchangeable.

    Disassemble my vac

Your valve (the dial on top) likely has broken plastic inside. You can either replace the valve or disconnect the tube, connecting it to the switch. If it were me, I would just replace the valve. But either way you’ll have a functioning vacuum again. I’m not sure why those valves break so...

Why is it taking Kirby so long

Rob, I agree! Kirby is already a mature product. And if they make it into something else. Customers would not recognize it. I don’t see how they could make it clean carpet any better than it already does. The guy at the factory said any newer model would have to clean better than or equal to the...

Why is it taking Kirby so long

I seriously doubt Kirby is going bagless! The VCCC visited Kirby in 2014. One of the higher up employees told the club that Kirby would not come out with a newer model that scarifies cleaning ability. He also said that customers expect performance and a certain sound out of their machines (think...

The worst looking Hoover Decade 80 for almost $600???!! CHECK THIS OUT

I just don't think people have an idea how much a vintage vacuum is worth. We get emails in our club account from the average person asking the value of their vintage vacuum quite frequently. For the most part the vac is something common, like a Kirby Classic for example. Yes, I think the...

How to tell a Kirby model C from a (1)C

It’s like referring to a Sentria as a Sentria I. Which most collectors just say Sentria. As Jim said above I thought it was just a C.

Retrofit a diamond edition speed switch to another Kirby

Isn’t the two speed switch on the diamond edition. Accomplished by cutting the power off in half rather than having an actual 2 speed field coil? I can’t remember the name of the device/reducer but it’s similar to what Oreck used on their two speed motors. Maybe it’s called a diode.

    Vacuum Club on the news

We didn’t look silly at all! They put us in a good light. . It’s available on HBO Max season three episode four. How to with John Wilson. It aired Friday night about 10 o’clock. I think we all did a good job. The episode moved very fast! Which I like. And John , you did a good job with your...
