I'm starting to understand why people are looking at alternative housing.

I just sat at the kitchen table and got rid of a couple thousand dollars and I didn't even leave the house. Most of it all bills. After paying our house payment which was $1681.42 then a $212.32 electric bill I'm starting to understand why so many more people are starting to move to the idea's...

    Central Vacuum Retrofit Kitchen Island

I remember one of my neighbors who had a central cleaning system retro fit into their house. They put the inlets in the floor pointing up. This was back in the 80s and last I knew the system was still there.

    Are "lift-off" vacuums overrated?

I don't think it's overrated any any /means. While I'm more of a canister person and don't actually own one. I love the idea of being able to detach the pod and move around rather than carry around the extra. Cleaning the car is easier because you don't have to haul around the extra bulk. I...

Regina Housekeeper Upright Vacuum Model 6308-A - Gets Clogged Leaving Brush Housing

I would have to ask the question of what were they trying to suck up and how much? My mom had one similar to that and never had that issue. I wonder if they were doing one of those vacuum video's for You Tube where they empty the trash can on the floor and trying to vacuum it all up. That...

    Forgotten Hoover Products

Lets not forget... The famous Hoover Z. Hated by many. I actually though they were cool machines. The only problem was that they weighed 500 pounds. LOL> It was just a cool looking design.I tried one and when I tried the suction from the hose it didn't feel like the suction was all that good.

I miss the 80's and 90's Dirt Devils. The original Broomvac, Power Pak and Hand Vac. Those were great machines.

    General Electric Vacuum Attachments

Finding attachments. MY guess is because all of the old machines are gone at this point. Keep in mind that units like what you are looking for were way back before the internet, before Ebay, Facebook Market Place and here. When the vacuum died it was discarded and a new one was purchased...

Never thought I'd get a Bison Mark 2 vacuum.

Is it possible to make a video of how to hook up the attachments and how to how up the carpet head after the attachments? I've always wondered about that?

What if bagless dust cups were made of glass instead of plastic?

Could you imaging how heave they would be? The dust cup would weight a ton and make the vacuum itself a lot heavier.

    New Kirby model !!

I have the Avalir Second Generation Black and Blue and I love it. I use it pretty often, but still revert back to my Rainbow or Aerus Classic. But they still can't make any improvements. At least with Rainbow they find ways to improve the model.

repair Rainbow D4c electric vacuum hose

You can find hoses cheap on Ebay and some in beautiful shape. I have never upgraded my hoses to internal wiring for a couple of reasons. They are more expensive to replace and the handles feel to awkward when you are trying to use them. I hang the hose on a hook in my laundry room and it...

Sorry I'm running late getting back to the party. Kirbyklekter. You are describing my or our normal Saturdays. This was a fun thread. It's always fun to see how other people manage their household. I have been seriously been considering getting something cordless to just get through...

Does anyone have those days they just want to get done and not fiddle with the vacuum?

Yesterday was a great example. Last week was a crazy week. Saturdays are really the only day we have time to get caught up. Normally I use the vacuum for everything. Once a month I use it to knock cobwebs, vacuum furniture and lampshades. You get the idea. We have a cat Noodles and a dog Rosie...
