    Oreck XL 40th Anniversary

I think orecks do just fine on corners, but you can have your own opinion. I also think Dyson has some of the worst floor heads. Their bristles are rather short and soft. So they don’t have great agitation, which is extremely important when cleaning carpet.

    Oreck XL 40th Anniversary

I have no interest in listening to vacuum facts lectures. How is cleaning corners all about how vacuums work? I’m not understanding.

    Oreck XL 40th Anniversary

I don’t understand how “science” has anything to do with vacuuming corners.

    Worst vacuum.

I’m curious what everyone thinks is the worst out of these. I don’t think every vacuum on this list is bad, I just want to give people lots of options.

Who really invented the cyclonic vacuum cleaner?

I vote Rexair, They were first, it’s a fact. Also has Dyson ever been sued because of their old slogan “the first vacuum without a bag”.

    Dream Kirby acquired!

I went to pick up what I thought was a Kirby sanitronic 50 but it turned out to be a 519! I brought it home and turned it on. It doesn’t sound terrible but the bearings could use some grease. If anyone could explain how to repack the bearings that would be great. I’m also heading to my vac shop...

I need to know how to disassemble an older Kirby with the switch on the side.

All I’ve done to those older Kirby’s is clean them a bit. I’ve never actually disassembled one fully. To take the cover off to access the motor you need to unscrew the 3 flathead screws on each side of the cover. Then very gently try to pry of the plastic part of the switch, one that comes off...

    Royal prince hand vacuum

I know the bearings wearing out is a common issue with these. I wish I knew of a way to fix it.

How to rebuild Hoover elite motor.

Thanks, I probably won’t grease the front bearing because I don’t feel comfortable drilling out the rivet.

How to rebuild Hoover elite motor.

Thanks, I realized these were ball bearings last night. I repacked them with Mobil lithium grease.
