    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

The lack of a pre motor filter was interesting on paper but terrible in practice. The "cinetic tips" were only capable of filtering out up to a certain micron level. (Don't know the number off hand) So anything out of that range was going to hit the motor. You'd also have to in theory...

Parwaz video shows it didn't work right as dust accumulates in the center tube past the cyclones.

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

The only caveat with those machines is that they have extremely poor filtration. So if you have bad allergies they're probably not worth it. But otherwise they are pretty good I think. I used to have the latest and (probably last) upright model Dyson sells, the Ball 3, and it was actually...

Yeah it's actually not a bad testing method. I think Project Farm and Vacuum Wars do something similar with crevices. I find their tests on Shark Vacuums dubious though as they never mention how awful the filters are and how truly disgusting it is to try and empty a Shark bin. They just...

I haven't noticed that on the Fluffy Heads, unless it's a large piece of debris like dog food or something.

This guy was sent the Dyson for review, and he complained to them about the lack of Fluffy Head cause in his opinion it makes the vacuum less "complete" (It is translated from Polish so not sure on 100% accuracy) and they told him it was being included in the set in the future. So at least in...

I personally wouldn't call that mess test very exaggerated. It seemed like a pretty fair amount of stuff. It wasn't complete chaos like Parwaz does. I really think the cleaner head is going to be discontinued and changed massively by next year if not the entire vacuum. Most consumers...

Yikes those videos were not good. I bet if you modded the the Gen5 or V15 carpet heads on the V16 it would clean that mess fine. If even TechRadar is shitting on the vacuum, then this thing is truly DOA. I guarantee the V16 will be discontinued or modified in some way by the end of...

Modding the vacuum would just ruin the warranty though. I'm not going to spend money on an expensive product if I have to "hack" or "mod" it. I like jerry rigging stuff but a product should work out of the box. Maybe your mod does make it better than the Gen5, but you can't seriously...

    Dyson Piston

I agree with all of this in theory but your own data showed it cleaned way worse than the Gen5. Don't get me wrong I was actually excited about this vacuum but I'm seeing zero reason to upgrade from the Gen5 or even V15 at this rate. All the extra bells and whistles are meaningless if it...

In fact check out his video using the Dyson Cinetic Canister. This thing doesn't even have a power head. Just a suction powered turbo tool and it seems to perform way better than the V16. That's sad and atrocious. I'm pretty sure this is the lower powered version too to comply with EU...

    Dyson Piston

Parwaz lasted video on the Piston has solidified to me that this thing is complete garbage at vacuuming and Dyson should be ashamed for releasing it. While yes it is a very extreme over the top torture test. Yes no ones homes are ever going to be this dirty. Buuut compare it to his similar...

The PICEA robot is the first product they've outsourced to a third party for development though. Sure they've made some duds in the past but at least they were all in house. The only hope is that no one buys this thing compared to the in house developed products and they reverse course...

Ok I found the small v15. Looks like it was made for the Asian market. Interesting for sure.

Isn't the v15 Detect a normal sized bin though? Pretty sure that's what I have and it's not a smaller one like the V12. The fact that we're having this discussion shows how bad the marketing is though.

Wait there was a small vin v15? What's it called?

Who's ever in charge of naming the products needs to be fired yesterday, the product lines are beyond confusing if you're not an enthusiast. So many dumb name changes and just general confusion. Like go to the website and pretend you're not an expert, you'd have absolutely no clue what is...

Fwiw I have a PencilVac and haven't seen any hair tangles. Even when I remove the fluffy rollers there's no dirt underneath on the motor spindles. (Not sure the correct word to use there) Occasionally some light built up dust on the clear screen, thankfully you can remove them now. Honestly...

FYI the Stylized just means they have a picture of the logo. I checked and any trademark with a logo has it. So it's just the regular Piston trademark.
