Here it is, my heavily abused Dyson DC07 All Floors(USA edition)

Honestly in better shape than I expected. Be careful the plastic is very brittle on these machines now and can snap easily. Too bad they don't sell a regular upright like this anymore. They were very good machines. Also I'd take a peek at the motor. If they filter disintegrated and they...

    Dyson Piston

Not sure why you're referring to these tests as "building site" messes as if they're giant piles of drywall or plaster dust. Obviously you're not supposed to use a home cleaner for messes like that. Those require commercial shop vac machines. But these are nowhere near anything like that...

Dyson V16 Piston Animal review: powerful vacuum let down by a poorly designed floorhead According to this video the big black squeegee bit just pushes debris away on hard floors, big yikes. And they're not wrong that the anti tangle combs already worked very effectively. So it's not a...

Tbf all Dyson cordless models only have like 8 to 10 minutes or so on the "Boost" setting. That being said that performance in the video is pretty atrocious. I feel like even an older V8 model would perform better....

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

Another one I'm interested in is the "Dyson V4 Digital CY29" (God they have the most confusing marketing) It was a smaller canister only released in japan, but it has an powered motorhead and fluffy head from the stick vacuums. And also buttons on the wand to stop the brushroll and other...

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

It did a lot better than I expected in the Ibaisaic video considering he didn't have the turbo tool. Dyson has come out with some interesting canister vacuums over the years in retrospect. I've always liked the look of the DC11 with the two Cyclone bins. Never used one though so not...

    Dyson Piston

I think it's pretty hard to spin this as a positive. At the end of the day they've lost a huge chunk of revenue. And like I've said, I have a V15, Pencilvac currently. And have had numerous other Dyson vacuums over the years. I've never had a problem with them specifically. I've...

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2025/sep/29/difficult-year-for-dyson-sees-profits-down-nearly-50 Double yikes. They've expanded too much, fired too many good people, and now the products and sales are suffering. The brands reputation is going downhill fast. I've had my V15 for over 2...

https://www.reddit.com/r/dyson/s/mi4oCBpNaJ Vacuum broken already after a month. Yikes assuming this is real.

The DC23 has a small fan that spins over the motor. Presumably to offer cooling. Rather interesting. Also has the "core separator" in the Cyclone that Dyson later abandoned.

    Sebo Announced Price Increases

Sebo just announced price increases, that will go into effect in October. Dyson also announced price increases a few months back, and I'm sure Miele will be next on the list. Vacuum shops and companies in general are in for a rough time. These Tarrifs are a disaster as expected.

    Dyson Piston

I noticed in one of the TechRadar reviews they mentioned the boost mode having more battery life as a pro. But failed to mention it's only that way because they lowered the performance. Not because of any actual improvements. In fact the whole 315AW number from Dyson is like false...

He hasn't said what the mod is. But there's two problems here. 1. Any mod would void the warranty so that's an instant no go for me. 2. Having to mod a new product to make it work properly is also a no go for me. That's a giant failure. I don't mind buying old things and jerry rigging...

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

This video makes it look pretty good aside from the small bin capacity. It picked up a lot more than I was expecting. I kinda want one now. Although I felt like there was dust on the motor but he didn't zoom in or touch it so I'm not 100% sure if it was a shadow or something.

Anyone remember the "City" Canister? The selling point was how small it was. I think it was like 2010ish I think the suction was pretty bad on it but I could be wrong.

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

This is a good video on it. I wonder if the plastic is brittle like the uprights from the same era. I wonder why Dyson stopped selling canisters with electric heads. Everything after this one was turbo tools only. Except for a few japan only ones.

Isn't the DC21 a canister model? Are you thinking of the 18? I think that was a slimmer ball model they made.

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

Tbf the DC15 was worse, the original Ball. That was a failure. The DC25 was weirdly extremely popular, I remember them still selling them via QVC as late as like 2015-16. I think people just like them cause they feel "fun" to use, and whizz around etc. But I can't necessarily comment...

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

I'd be curious to see how a DC24/25 fares on one of those tests. They were much better designed than the later DC40 style ball models imo. In retrospect kind of an ugly looking machine but I think they were overall better than the later models in terms of performance.

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

Correct but on a regular Dyson with a pre-motor filter, accidentally going over the fill line a few times isn't a huge ordeal as you have the pre-motor filter to save you. On the cinetic system there's nothing there, so it can be quite disastrous over time. There's also nothing you can do if...
