Shop Vac All Around - Made in USA??

I think Shop Vac still makes their machines in the US.

How good are you at reccomending a vacuum?

Scenario #1 Aerus upright Scenario #2 Shark with a turbo tool Scenario #3 Miele C2 with a turbo head or a electro brush if she can fit it in her price range Scenario #4 Proteam backpacks Scenario #5 One of the newer Dirt Devil bagless machines Scenario #6 Proteam upright...

Not satisfied with the floor tool either

Even once you get a machine with a power head it will still be better to use a dedicated hard floor tool when cleaning hard surface floors.

    Hello! And my new Prolux

They're great machines, and the bags are cheap and easy to replace.

Not satisfied with the floor tool either

The machine is likely the reason you're having problems, it may be better with a new bag and clean filters. I agree with Mike that the combo floor tool is pretty much a joke and you'll get better results from a dedicated floor tool. Try finding a machine that has a bit more cleaning power too...

    interesting power team

I believe Prolux is also just a brand that GreatVacs "created," since they aren't really sold by anyone except for them. They have them for sale on Amazon and Ebay as well but they're all sold by GreatVacs. Their machines are all just rebadged versions of anther company's cleaners.

Using Kirby Shampoo with an Electrolux Floor Pro

That's disappointing that they've gone downhill, I noticed they now sell machines online too rather than just doing in home demonstrations. I've questioned their deep cleaning ability after seeing how small the brush roll on the EB400 nozzle is. My favorite brand just happens to be US...

    Bissell. Good or bad

Mike, I believe they do still sell a number of bagged canister, I don't believe any of them have power nozzles though. I used to have a Bissell Zing and it was actually really decent for a $40 canister. I used Simplicity style Z HEPA bags in it and they fit perfectly...

Not satisfied with the floor tool either

If that floor tool is having issues picking up those types of debris then you either need a more powerful machine or you have it on the floor at the wrong angle, the white nozzle shouldn't have much of an issue. May I ask what vacuum you're using?

    Hello! And my new Prolux

I agree about being concerned about safety if he intends to use it as a daily driver or something similar, but if he intends to keep it mainly has a part of his collection then I'd keep it original if the cord has little-no signs of wear right now. If you do decide not to get it replaced now...

    Hello! And my new Prolux

Hi from Stafford, just a couple of counties south of Alexandria! As others have already said, the brush roll motor sounds completely normal. It sounds great in fact, I actually like the loud power nozzles on Aerus/Electrolux vacuums. Replacing the suction motor would probably make a huge...

    Bissell. Good or bad

https://www.bissell.com/anna-upright-hybrid-cordless-vacuum-1422 This is one bagless Bissell that I actually would like to see in person. All the rest of them can stay in Walmarts, dumpsters, and trailer parks where they belong.

Using Kirby Shampoo with an Electrolux Floor Pro

If it didn't seem like there was much foam then try adding just a bit more shampoo to the dilution. You shouldn't have an issue using Kirby shampoo in the Floor Pro. I love the look of Vorwerk machines, I wish they were still sold here in the states. Welcome to the site!! :)

Kirby - Researching to buy my first Kirby

I'd definitely go with the Ultimate G Diamond Edition. I like the regular/low speed switch option, and the speed switch is the only major change compared to the newer models. Of course, I believe they updated the mini emptor with each of the last few models to increase airflow. But my personal...

Role of suction/airflow in a cleaner with a rotating brush

Hi all, I was curious and decided to test something out. I decided to vacuum the medium pile carpet in front of my front door on the lowest power setting of my Electrolux Guardian Encore and then go over the same area on the highest power setting to compare how much it picks up on each...

    my new Vorwerk VK200

Very nice, I really wish we had the Vorwerk in the states. I can't see myself buying a Kirby Avalir new, there just isn't enough change from previous models. The Kobold seems to change frequently and looks very modern.

    Bissell. Good or bad

Bissell? Good? Lol. The bagged machines aren't terrible, and none of their vacs are very bad cleaners. The bagless machines are atrocious when it comes to filtration. I would never use a bagless Bissell in my house, the vacuum cleaner you use has a huge effect on your indoor air quality. My...

    my new Vorwerk VK200

The Vorwerk sounds like an amazing machine, it's a shame we don't have these here in the states. How exactly does the waterless window cleaner work? More pictures would be amazing :)

Strange things at Sears vacuum department

All of the Sears stores near me seem to have a decently sized vacuum section, if I had to pick a big box store to buy a vacuum from then it would be Sears because of the selection of bagged Kenmores. We just lost another KMart, 3 minutes down the road from a Sears. The Kmart was neglected for...
