Question about a Salmon GE roll-about

Hiya, curious to know if anyone has or ever switched out the swivel port of a Roll-About for a newer slotted one?

I do have one of those, model VIIC3, but have never needed to do anything with it other than clean & polish it, repair the hose (done after this pic was taken), and run it from time to time. But I do wonder why you need to change the swivel on yours--is it broken? Here's a pic of mine.
