Hello,
Quick question. A lot of times friends or family need vacuum bags from me. A lot of time I give them envirocare branded bags. Are they as good as the genuine ones?
Thanks
-Jack

I’ve only bought one package of bags that were Envirocare, they were paper Panasonic upright bags. The first bag I used broke in the machine after one use. I have not tried their hepa bags. I believe that I have also heard somewhere that they make the Tacony bags for the Vibrance/Symmetry.

Envirocare was the most common brand of bag we sold at the shop. They were decent for paper bags. They also had allergen bags which resembled hepa bags. At the top right of the package there was a number if you added A before that number that would be the allergen variant if it was available. for Example Hoover Y paper is 856 and the allergen ones are A856.
We did used to buy Simplicity paper A and B bags in bulk, many of our commercial customers used them for the carpet pros. For whatever reason the boxes of bulk bags were backordered multiple times so we just ordered envirocare bags a few times. They were quite similar

I mean yeah some of them are just a single layer of paper those were mainly bags for older vacuums like the hoover C and D and such. Generally anything more modern which would have their micro filtration labeling to them which would have an inner layer that was...soft and almost like a thin and smooth cloth material. Then you had the Allergen ones which are basically hepa bags. It's entirely possible to get a defective bag but like I think they're an overall fairly solid brand for replacement bags. You'll generally see either them or DVC branded replacement bags in vacuum stores for the brands they don't carry.

I never use paper bags. I have used their synthetic bags in certain vacuums but in some cases like my Riccar 1700 where the dust enters from the top you can see a nice round dust mark on the bottom of the bag chamber where the dust coming in the top blows right through the three layer bag. In other cases I have good results with their Panasonic C-18 dust bag in my MC-CG885. So it seems to vary by application whether or not their bags are ok.
