Wow, looks like quite a haul! Sure wish I were able to make the trip! Although I'm not looking to add any vacs to my collection, I do know he's got a lot of parts and attachments I could use. And by the way, I have a model 90 Lewyt (aka the Golden Lewyt) in my collection just like the one on top in the 3rd picture. Here's a pic of mine. I know the upholstery nozzle and dust brush in the pic don't match, just had them on hand at the time.A picture’s worth 1000 words. Her are three. Try not to drool on your keyboard. Three layers of vacuums with thick cardboard between layers. Barely made dent in his inventory. Lots more to choose from.

Whew! Just arrived home. California to Tennessee, load the van and back home in 8 days. No certificates of achievement from the pooh-leece either! I exercised a truly rare degree of adult restraint O_OMy, My, what car is that? What machines are in there?
That is the vacuum I grew up with as a kid. From looking at ads it is the 1957 model, same year I was born.Wow, looks like quite a haul! Sure wish I were able to make the trip! Yes, I'm pretty sure you're right on the 1957 date for the Lewyt. And although you can't tell in the pic I posted, the hose ends and wands are anodized with kind of a gold tint, which I think might be why it was called the Golden Lewyt. Always great to add a vacuum to your collection of the same make & model you grew up with! That's why I HAD to have a Lux XXX and a Kenmore "Torpedo Tank" in my collection! Mom cleaned the house with the Lux, and the Kenmore was used in the basement and to clean out the cars. Only thing that would make it better would be if the ones in my collection were the ones that actually belonged to my parents. That is the vacuum I grew up with as a kid. Coming as I do from California the auto parts stores do not stock windshield washer fluid with de-icing agent in it. Most of us just use straight water. Not the first time this has happened. Same problem with my wife's Avalon several years ago and it can get downright cold at night in our high desert. I used to be able to buy anti freeze washer fluid from VW / Audi but they are not stocking it here either. I have a big jug of the good stuff in the van for use after I fix the reservoir I bought at a truck stop in New Mexico.Jeez, never in 70+ years of driving in the Upper Midwest, where temps are routinely below zero degrees Fahrenheit, have I had windshield-washer fluid freeze. Arizona ww fluid did you in at a mere 21F (-6C), I'm sorry to say. But what a haul you brought home. Congrats, enjoy!
Besides thousands of ICE marauders in Minneapolis, our streets are solid ice, with below-zero temps forecast for the coming week. Auto body shops are filled to overflowing.
It was a good trip. I-40 is a scenic highway. I didn't realize Oklahoma had such wooded rolling terrain. Scanning the radio all the time you hear some really weird stuff. Even heard what I am pretty sure is a Navaho language radio station in New Mexico. Good trip but today I have low energy. You came back in one piece at least. Good luck for the reservoir fix!
