Vacuuming early in life?

At about age three or four, I became fascinated with our Lewyt canister. It was the model that was shaped like a fireplug, had a bright pink motor unit up top, and charcoal gray 'can' below, where the dirt collected. It also had casters underneath to make it easy to pull around by the hose. Not too great for the hose, but oh well. I quickly learned to take it apart and configure it with the various tools. It had no power nozzle and I didn't even know canisters/tanks came with such things until I was in my 30s, when my grandmother's Eureka Princess PowerTeam was passed down to me, but that's another story. When I was little, that Lewyt was the first 'big' machine I learned to become the master of. It was empowering for a toddler with ADHD.

This is what I have always wondered started it all. My profile picture is me when I was probably 4 maybe 5 apparently whenever my mom would vacuum I would beg to help. I didn't start collecting or anything else like that until I was 19, 20 but have vague memories of pushing around that old dirt devil as well as vacuuming the stairs with the old hand vac model 103.

Yes i remember. I was four years old at my grandmother's place. The Electrolux E2000 vacuum cleaner i discussed on previous posts here is the same one i was excited about. It was holding that hand grip on the power hose and going back and forth with the power nozzle. It was something about the power nozzle that got me all excited! The machine wasn't on. Then when i got older i helped my grandmother vacuum with same machine. Wow that machine has been around. Then when my mom met her bf, he had an Electrolux AP280 cleaner i got excited over that. i actually turned it on and used it to vacuum. I had fun turning the switch from low to high speed. My sister's friend had an AP200 series back in the 80's. i would go over to play. and the friend would use. it. i would just watch and stare. idk i guess i was fascinated with vacuuming at a young age, and the sounds the vacuum and power head made. Right now i use an AP 100 cleaner that i got few weeks ago. Lady was moving out. This machine is so quiet, i'm thinking it's not working but it is, it's sucking! sorry lol. and the power nozzles of this era are pleasantly quiet as well. you have a new one it's so loud. With this AP 100 i have the Power Nozzle V before the PN 100 came out. i'm just so use to these newer models 80's plus to be louder. The 70's AP are nice and quiet. and i always liked it when the vacuum cleaner had the original parts. the power head, as the AP had the matching colours. and the accessories. Yes they have the same colours as the cleaner. I have the big Electrolux case as well. Everything fits nicely inside. The cleaner, accessories, hoses, power head, and Handikit. I enjoyed playing with other vacuum models in early life. The Electrolux just was the common one in the family. Oh and the Filter Queen. That's a cute vacuum with the cone filter. That one is pleasant to use as well.
