Hello VacuumLand! I have a nice vintage General Electric Model FP-4 twin-brush floor polisher (circa 1960) that's looking for a new home. This one came out of storage and is ready to join a collection or get back to work.

What You're Getting:
  • GE FP-4 in white with classic mid-century styling
  • original brushes included - showing honest wear but plenty of life left
  • Motor runs smoothly when powered on
  • Original cord and handle assembly intact
  • GE badge clearly visible on hood
  • Period-correct "Steel" quality sticker still present
  • Overall nice cosmetic condition with expected vintage patina

Condition Notes:The machine powers on and the motor sounds healthy.
Here is a video link:

Brushes show use (one has two-tone wear pattern, the other is cleaner) but are not falling apart. Hood is clean with some light scratches from decades of storage. No cracks or major damage. This was clearly a working machine that did its job well.

Price: My guess is $75 or best reasonable offer for local pickup in the Dallas, TX area (75228). Happy to answer questions or provide additional photos of specific areas.

These GE twin-brush polishers were solid machines from the era when appliances were truly built to last. Would love to see it go to someone who appreciates vintage floor care equipment!
Thanks- cb

Hello!

It does appear to be in good shape and retains worth because of that as well as having a G-E motor with presumed limited usage over the years. That said, it looks like the handle has been repainted from the bumper color to brown as others I have seen, or that it was replaced; making it less valuable to a collector in either case. Conversely, the original operating instructions booklet and/or paper work, and spare pads or brushes would increase its vintage worth.

Many prospective buyers would be apt to consider it for cabin or garage use. It could theoretically also be used to polish furniture or vehicles as some companies showed in advertisements back in the day.

Best
