Hi im Marc and im from the uk

This is the first vacuum in my collection. It's a Vax Gator. It has a surprisingly good suck for a 10v handheld. My favourite vacuum is a numatic henry or any of the old Electrolux cylinders. Were vax gators ever sold in the usa? I know that some vax products were sold under the hoover brand since they are all owned by tti but i have never seen an American video on these.

Just this one at the moment I plan to get more. There are also 2 dysons but they aren't from my collection.

Welcome! Yes, they were sold as the Dirt Devil Gator in the US, under TTI. They were sold on HSN often, I’ve linked a video below.

I have no knowledge of the Vax Gator. Can you give some background on it? Is there only one model?

My knowledge of Numatic Henrys is minuscule.

That is a completely different model and not at all related and came out probably a decade before the VAX if not longer. VAX UK is just Hoover US, so all of their products are Hoover made.

The USA never got this model, likely because the trademark on the Gator name by Dirt Devil. The vacuum was sold as the Hoover Gator in the UAE and Saudi Arabian market.
