Thanks Paul!!! To add another dimension to the celebration, pictures of vacs rebranded for our venerable Eaton’s and The Bay department stores would be most welcome. We saw plenty of Canadian Eurekas and Hoovers and Reginas rebranded as Eaton Viking, Baycrest and Beaumark over the decades before 1990.

I love their central vacs. Not alot of people talk about them but apparently Canada has a huge market for central vacs. According to what one person from Canada told me, newly constructed homes are now required to have a central vac installed to meet the Canadian health code.

Antoine, the Electrolux 2100 & LE is one of my favorite Electrolux models of all time! Everything you need without any fancy features that don't really contribute to ease of use or better cleaning performance. And cheap bags & filters & easy to maintain.

Alex - Gary's right, I have never heard of a central vac being mandatory to install anywhere in Canada. However, a LOT of new home builders do install the central vac piping as a standard feature. Who knows, maybe that may be a reason they are so popular here?
