Does anyone know if the Eureka self propelled model 5071 is hard to push when not engaging the self propelled option. Mine seems to be. Thank you

I recently purchase an Eureka 5071 burnt orange self propelled vacuum. It was/is in great shape. Problem is when it was packed for shipping, they bent the spring cord that controls the self propelled option. They no longer sell the part :( Does anyone know where I can find one. Thank you Joel
