I have a kirby tradition, kirby 516,a coffee can hoover (725) from the '20s, a eureka the boss, a kennmore twin speed, a red commercial Sanitaire, a kirby G5, and several others.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
A bison, a commercial hoover 918, a kirby duel sanitronic 50, a hoover junior, a hoover convertible, a royal standard straight suction, a "bug eyed" kennmore, a hoover decade 80, an Oreck XL4000 in gold, and a eureka upright from the 60s or 70s. And I know it's a long shot, but is love a American Lincoln super vac or super sweep (I know they're very rare)
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
I took my moms blue hoover convertible from the mid-80s to show and tell when I was in kindergarten. Also, my grandmother was in the rental house business and she found a eureka from the late 60s that was white w/ an orange bag that was left behind and gave it to me. My dad went to a yard sale once and found a kirby tradition for $15. And last but not least my great uncle was cleaning out his basement in Asheville North Carolina and gave me the coffee can hoover that I still have, he said it was from the grove park inn resort.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Most were given to me by family members as I mentioned above.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
Not yet, but I plan to. I'm looking for a good project vacuum right now.
