Here's a very cool early Hoover plug, now fitted to my Model 541. It can be converted for use in both bayonet lamp sockets, or 2-pin wall sockets. The distance between the pins can even be adjusted to fit the non-standardised sockets...

How well it cleans depends greatly on what surface you're using it on - I can't see it doing well on thick American carpeting. I find the brush is too soft for deeper-pile carpet, but it does well on medium and lower pile, and bare floors. I'm assuming your one will be rated at 1200w at most...

I do like the hose - much lighter in weight and more flexible than vintage woven hoses. I do wonder, though, if the slightly 'loose' weave will show a tendency to snag on sharp edges...I guess only time will tell! The motor comes with a 10 year guarantee, which is impressive. I'm just not...
