In the professional setting I always use the genuine gaskets. They’re easy enough to install after some practice. But at home I just use that weather stripping. I can tear them down and not have to fight the gasket every time I want to clean them out. It could go either way...

Direct air power heads for central vacuums.
Mikanik, a long long time ago they had a Eureka direct air vacuum set up as a power nozzle with a wand in place of a handle. I believe it was on an AirWay? If not someone correct me please.
Outer bag
I paid either $19.99 for the outer bag or $29.99 memory is a little foggy at the moment. Maybe the VG2 was $29.99. I will have to check the receipts later on today.

Sorry for the year late reply. I performed the conversion on an Eureka 1432A. The filltube came off of my Kirby Ultamite G Diamond Edition. You slide the Kirby's filltube over the horn on the F&G outer bag and rolled the spring up to lock it in place. I have since had a Sanitaire...

It is a durable vacuum. nice sturdy plastic and thick steel. I know it will last me a long time! I love it more every passing day! I am placing an order for 8 belts for the "industrial" hoovers tomorrow. Should last longer than the belts meant for the residential machines.

That is cool! Maybe you could do some projects like replicating some of the old hoovers! like the hoover baby? Cant think of specific model #'s atm. long day, lol! but you listed some cool uses for it like cleaning up chewed up brushroll ends ect... Enjoy!
