I had an E2 black a few years ago that had this issue. I contacted my local distributor / repairman who couldn't even figure it out and he ended up replacing the entire motor assembly under warranty. If I remember correctly, it might have had something to do with the motor not spinning fast enough?

Question Was the motor an exact fit to the molding of model you were swapping it into? I've been wanting to upgrade a classic style Oreck with the newer motor, brushroll, and belt but didn't know if the motor would fit!

Got one too! Interesting that yours has the label on the bag, and a white cord! Agreed on the handle, I couldn’t see this lasting long in normal conditions at all. Surprisingly powerful though!
