Current Vacuum collection
My current vacuum collection consists of 2 vintage 2004 RIDGID shop vacs in a 12 gallon and 9 gallon capacity and I have a like new condition 10 quart proteam super coach vac from 2001 in pristine condition.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
My dream vac to come across in a pristine condition is a RIDGID WD06250 shop vac or a craftsman 6 gallon 113.177415 vac or if not, I’ll get both at the same time.
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
One of my memories was when I was a kid and a fellow neighbor bought a new RIDGID WD12450 12 gallon vac and I would always sit on my cousin’s playground and watch him vacuum out his cars every weekend. Then when I was a young kid during kindergarten back in the day around 2007, I would always look forward to the end of a school day to see the janitor pull out his 2 proteam super coach vacs out of the closet and go into classrooms to vacuum them out.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
My 2 Ridgid shop vacs from what I know came around the early 2000s specifically during 2004 when ridgid were in their prime with their vac designs and quality and as for my proteam super coach vac, it was made in 2001 and when I bought it, it came from a hotel and I believe they may have upgraded to another vacuum, hence why they probably sold it and it is in a pristine condition like out of the box new.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
I have worked on my 2 ridgid shop vacs in terms of restoration and cleaning even though they weren’t faded or damaged, well my WD12450 vac is sort of faded on the lid portion where it’s orange but not ugly and still has lots of color just became a somewhat lighter fade of orange and as for my WD09450 ridgid vac, I picked it up in a pristine condition at my local flea market and has all its colors bright from straight out of the box. For my proteam super coach vac, when it arrived in the mail, it did need a few things before it was ready to use, the vac itself was very pristine but only missing it’s hose, attachments, micro filters, and a yellow 50ft extension cord, all of which I bought and became rebuilt.
