    New Miele

I had gotten guidance somewhere to tighten up the joints injecting floor wax. It is a pretty short lived solution.

Miele "Jazz" Dynamic U1 Upright Motor Issues

I have a Jazz and after months of use my HEPA filter never looked new… always grey. But still functioning like the day I got it years later. Hopefully you resolve your issue.

A little pet peeve I have...

I used a Dyson for years before I “got into” vacuums and the benefits of hypo bagged vacs. I only thoroughly cleaned the Dyson once… after I discovered the vacuum hobby. Up until then I did not even know it had foam filters that were supposed to be regularly cleaned by hand. It was gross...

Sebo D1 Canister Vacuum - Pros and Cons?

I’m not a fan of suction only heads. They add a lot of effort to vacuuming, especially as a rug gets thicker. I ended up converting my Miele C3 to a power head after being disappointed in suction head dynamics. For hard floors the parquet floor attachment is fantastic. For better or worse, I...

    Miele SMC20 MicroSet attachments

My micro-set has arrived. About as expected. Nice storage case. It is good my C3 has the Auto speed function as there is a step-down in hose diameter, so auto-adjust seems to regulate towards half-speed. Once I started to use at my desk I located lots of nooks and crannies across my computer...

    Miele SMC20 MicroSet attachments

For a number of year I hemmed and hawed about buying the pricey 4 piece Miele MicroSet attachments for vacuuming in small, precise places, like on computer equipment. I already pride myself on having the C3 Alize (beige) with both all electric and non electric hoses and attachments. This 4...

Added a new machine to my collection

I got a Miele U1 Jazz about 5 years ago through eBay in mint condition at a very good price, Wow, is it heavy. I noticed when I had power all the way up but then turned on the power head the motor would slow down a notch. I did not realize this was a “feature” at the time and sent a note into...

    Miele Dynamic U1 (Jazz)

Nice find! I picked one up in excellent shape a few years back for ~$250. It is very multi-functional with the hose and rod that can extend quite a way. I appreciate the headlight. The biggest downside is it is HEAVY. Luckily, I have enough vacuums it does not have to leave the floor it...

Numatic is entering the USA properly!

My first proper vac in the US was a Miele C3. It was the Alize, with suction nozzle. 2/3 of my house is wood floors. It was my first suction nozzle vac and I hated the experience on carpet. So much so I (luckily?) could spend another grand to buy powered hose and nozzle to upgrade the...

Amazon Buys IRobot - Maker of Roomba Vacuums

I probably don't want to be Dyson right now.

    Has Miele changed hands?

Maybe this is is why vacuum “collecting” exists… tried and true vacuum styles we have warmed up to most of our lives get put to pasture by the manufacturer for one reason or another. Luckily I have a broad assortment of prior generation Miele machines that I hope perform well for decades before...

    Well, that escalated quickly!

Nice! Sounds like when I first immersed myself in vacuums and within weeks had bought a Miele C3 Alize and then bought every powered and non-powered C3 accessory/attachment (highly recommend!), a Classic Sebo ET1 and then a Miele U1 Jazz. I have since added a Sanitaire SC888 Commercial with...

Why do bypass vacuums have such terrible deep-cleaning performance?

panasonicvac: interesting that reviews of this tandem air machine have it producing such lackluster results. https://www.vacuumland.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?39600

Why do bypass vacuums have such terrible deep-cleaning performance?

Has anyone ever made a hybrid, where there is direct air in floor mode, but can convert to bypass when the hose is in use so one can get proper suction and use various suction-driven attachments?

    Sanitare

You likely made a good choice. Immense airflow with this vac, hopefully not too much on setting 6 if your carpet is real thick. As I’ve said before, this vac is a one trick pony, and that trick is to vacuum carpet. If that is all you’ll do with it it likely will be perfect.
