Agreed After following this the last few days i believe i am done ordering older hoover uprights off ebay. I ordered a dial-a-matic and it showed up in ONE piece but it was packaged carefully by the shipper.

I purchased a Kirby 1-cr classic and a rug renovator. Is it possible to use the new suds/shampoo in this older system or will it not foam? And i read somewhere online that the year manufactured was in the casting somewhere and i haven't found it, did i read wrong?

Goof Off Goof off Pro strength remover will remove that. But be careful because it will also remove even what you dont want. Also don't use a bright colored rag because it will transfer that color back into the face off whatever you're cleaning, and don't rub hard just keep your rag saturated...
