What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
Earliest: my Mom’s Kirby 511, and having the "bejesus" scared out of me as a toddler by my Grandmas Regina Electrikbroom. Favorite: discovering (and falling in love with) the Hoover Convertible 1070 when it first came out (and wanting one to this day ... and now I have one. YAHOO!); successfully resuscitating what was believed to be a "dead" vacuum cleaner (I forget what brand it was) and then turning it into a "daily use" machine for my Mom.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Not sure what you mean by this question. Except for one of my cleaners, there is no real "family" connection to any of the machines in my collection; i.e., they didnt belong to any of my relatives or friends, etc. Most, if not all, of my machines arrived in my collection by being bought at local thrift stores and/or online through eBay.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
Yes: I ran my own repair shop for a while before my wife and I were married, and after we were married I served as a "consultant" to another shop here in town. I also worked for The Hoover Company for a time in the pre-TTI era.
