I have to revise this section as many of my cleaners met an untimely death during three floods! I still have some convertibles and some of the older Hoovers such as a model 300 but now I mostly have the metal body Electrolux cleaners. I have a large number of model 30s, six super Js, a golden jubilee, three Olympia Ones, three Silverados, a model e, two model Gs, two model Ls, two Diamond Jubilees, a Hoover model 700, two Hoover Celebrities, three Model LXs, a Kirby G5 and Sentria, two Electrikbrooms, two newer plastic vacuums, and last but certainly not least an UltraLux Commemorative Edition! Im sure there are some more Im missing on this list, but thats what I can come up with for now!
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
A replacement Hoover 725 for my dearly departed one!
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
My earliest memories of vacuum cleaners goes back to when I was little, too little to use one actually. My babysitter had an old Eureka upright and when we would get out of line and cause trouble, she would bring it out, sit us on the couch and put it in front of us and tell us that the first one of us who moved would get sucked up (you have to remember, Im super tiny at this point) so it scared all of us to death. Later on, I remember my mom using her Electrolux Olympia One around the house and I always liked the olympic rings on the sticker at the back of the machine. To make a long story short, that had to be 30+ years ago and I still have that old Olympia One and it still runs like a champ!
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
I have an old Hoover that belonged to Lucille Ball. At least I think I do....unless it was in my flooded basement :( Ill have to double check on it!
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
I have restored several actually, and have a lot to go. My most recent completion was a FULL restoration on a Model XXX. Check my photos for it!
