    Rubber cable

    Hi, I have a hoover 612 with original cable. The machine is part of my unused collection but the cable has started to stick together and cracked. Does anyone know if there is a preserver for the cable to stop it deteriorating?

    Help with bakelite.

    Bikerray, It does absolutely stink like a bitter smell when I washed it, but paste wax I may actually have in the depths of my garage. Coffeecanman, steel wool? Sounds harsh but it is deeply oxidised, so I'll give that a go too. Cheers both of you.
