Current Vacuum collection
I have 2 vintage Kirby Vacuums, both with all attachments that were made, One is a Kirby Classic and the second is a Generation 4 It has the power drive transmission. (which I enjoy)
I have 3 vintage Electrolux Vacuums (uprights) with attachments.
I have 3 Oreck Vaccums, which are decent and I do use, because of the weight.
I also have 2 Shark Vacuums (light weight) and easy to use on hard surfaces
- 1 with a standard brush roll and the other with the newer type multi-surface roll.
I don't know if carpet cleaners count, but I have 3 carpet cleaners 2 made by Bissel and one is a commerciall machine.
the other is the new Pro Heat model.
What are your dream machines yet to be found?
I am now interested in Vintage or perhaps newer Royal vacuums (uprights) - I do have an old metal Royal upright, but it needs to be cleaned and polished, as well as a new brush roll. (I have ordered one of those)
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
My earliest memories of vacuums was using my Grandmothers old canister Electrolux. Now that I think about it, it seemed to be a nice vacuum and at times, I would use it to ride on, like a space rocket ship! (LOL)
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Most of my vacuums have been purchased new, except for my older Kirby Classic, which I purchased on eBay.
I have also purchased one of my Electrolux uprights on ebay as well.
The old Royal Upright was purchased on eBay and I am working on it now.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
I am not a major vacuum mechanic, but I do a thorough cleaning and servicing (which I do regularly on all of my machines, to keep them in tip-top shape. - (My pet peeve is a dirty or filthy vacuum)
I have replaced some parts on my Kirby machines, when they finally fail or I feel as if they need replacing.
I also have worked on the Orecks, which are easy and straight forward.
