What are your dream machines yet to be found?
Lewyt with powerhead
Westinghouse upright with built-in bag. 1950s. Cannot remember model. Innovative.
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
Walking home from school through the alleys. Id pick up discarded vacuum cleaners and take them home. Id take them apart and learn, learn, learn.
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
1967 Royal hand vac: Found at resale shop still in box. Five dollars. Instruction manual had 1967 hand-written on it. That is how I dated it.
1950s Royal/Wards: Found at Antique store. I use the 1967 Royal for upholstery in house and needed another for the car.
Filter-Queen: Estate sale find. A disaster. Refurbished it and use it for general household use.
Hoover Swingette: Bought at AMVETS in about 1977 as a kid. No hose. However I had hoses I picked from garbage already. I still use the unit in my shop.
RCA WHIRLPOOL canister: Estate sale find. Complete including instructions and extra bags. Will post a pix soon.
Eureka Whisk. 1980s era. Not really vintage but.. Mom won that years ago. Since bags are obsolete I just use it to clean furnace filters.
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
Yup. I fix them all.
