What are your dream machines yet to be found?
The Hoover Lark upright (both the blue and pink models)...The Kenmore "Bug Eye" upright...the early Airway with the beater brush...the Hoover Handivac with the power head
What are your earliest and favorite vacuum memories?
Very early childhood. Have pictures of me using a Hoover 28 at the age of 18 months...my parents bought me a Hoover Pixie for my third Christmas! We had the 28, a Connie, Regina Electrik Broom, Royal hand held...with the revolving brush & a Eureka upright from 1920, which I still have & it works! My parents bought it used for $2.50 when the got married in 1932
What is the history of vacuum you have owned?
Many came from family & friends
Have you ever worked on, repaired and/or restored any vacuum cleaners?
Constantly...I restore, and even rebuild them...people in the parish regularly leave "orphans" at the door of the rectory...I repair/restore them and give them away to the needy, or give them to the church to sell at flea markets & rummage sales. I repair sweepers for anyone who asks...People will call the parish office and ask for "The Doctor" rather than the Pastor...I am known as the Hoover Surgical specialist...This is a rather unique, but, very fun hobby!
