    Cut-and-Paste Budget Bagless Vacuum Design

My pets (3 small dogs and 1 cat) are the main reason I've been such a strong supporter of bagless. Having a Shark robot that runs downstairs is incredibly convenient, since it saves me the labor of using a regular vacuum all the time. This Shark automatically evacuates the dirt into a larger bin...

    Most unpleasant-sounding vacuum ever?

I ditto this. Since I am also on the spectrum, the noise of my household vacuums bothered me to the point that I would plug my ears before the vacuum came on. This happened with the Dirt Devil I mentioned in my OP, as well as our old Bissell CleanView 8975. Despite my obsession, I couldn't...

    Cut-and-Paste Budget Bagless Vacuum Design

These cheap, single-cyclonic designs are baffling to me as well. I believe this tricks the end-user into thinking that their vacuum is dying faster, leading to an early disposal of it. But to be fair, I remember when every bagless vacuum in the early to mid-2000s was filter-based. I agree...

    Cut-and-Paste Budget Bagless Vacuum Design

Here's a trend that I've just discovered in the budget vacuum sector. I'm not sure how this came to be, but a particular form factor of bagless vacuum has been standardized across a few brands. Here are the details: Compact, lightweight form factor (7.7-8.4 lbs.) Short hose and 25-foot power...

What is the Weirdest Vacuums You've Seen?

My pick would be the Fantom Wildcat. It was released in 2001 and was pathetic in every possible way! However, I've never owned one myself, so I had to rely on research for this info. For a Fantom, the Wildcat had a very bizarre and quirky design. Its handle was offset, and the vacuum had what...

    Dyson DC17 Filter Cover Issue

Used Filter Cover I ended up buying a used filter cover off eBay. After a bit of searching, I found one that has both locking tabs fully intact. It even looked identical to the one on my vacuum. I bought it after the seller gave me a slight discount of $16 USD (originally $18) with free...

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Speed Pet with Zero-M (ZU561)

The filters are actually a bit dirty from normal usage. Thanks for the offer, but I am not interested in those filters. Sorry.

    Dyson DC17 Filter Cover Issue

Yet another minor issue has occurred with my Dyson DC17 Absolute Animal. The other day, I decided to wash the filter; it had some hair and fluff built up around the edges. However, once it dried and I went to put it back in, the filter cover had some resistance. I pushed it down, but then part...

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Speed Pet with Zero-M (ZU561)

Yes, this vacuum has been serving my mom very well; it's still going strong nearly 3 years later. There is one minor issue, though: when the vacuum is turned on, it tends to make a slight whistling noise. This applies to the wind-down as well. I wonder if any of the seals need to be cleaned?

Residential Bissell Cleanview Being Used in a Commercial Setting

Sad but true. The country club I work at uses a residential Bissell, which appears to be a Swivel Rewind Pet. Its brushroll chamber is also clouded up to where you can't see the brushroll. I haven't seen an extension cord being used with that vacuum, but the machine's cord isn't even wrapped up...

When all you own are bagless vacuums

To be fair, I can see how bagless is not for everyone. In addition to the filters getting caked with dust, there are lots of cracks and crevices in the bin for fine dust to accumulate, including the shroud. This'll have to be washed and/or wiped out from time to time. Here's a good analogy: as...

When all you own are bagless vacuums

I can only imagine how nice it would be to have a vacuum that doesn't smell dusty after use. Here are some other things I've noticed about a Rainbow: they are very expensive, and the water basin adds weight which may make the vacuum harder to pull around. Another thing with bagless vacuums is...

When all you own are bagless vacuums

Right, I completely forgot to mention bagless filters. Most of the time, I've either washed them, banged them out or brushed the dust off of them. Even then, they will degrade over time with frequent cleanings. My Dyson DC07 Animal had its pre-motor filter become faded and shrunken down slightly...

When all you own are bagless vacuums

Do you know someone who has almost exclusively owned bagless vacuums? I know I am among one of those. This is a counter-thread to the one about only owning vintage-looking vacuums. I have come up with a few factors. The first one is prevalence. It seems like this is the type of vacuum that...

    New Shark Navigator!

I currently own a Shark robot vacuum, as well as a WandVac hand vacuum. Both have had no issues whatsoever. In addition, my mom owns a red Navigator Lift-Away with Zero-M (ZU561), which has been serving her very well since Christmas of 2022. The Zero-M brushroll actually works as it should...
